I'm a firm believer of online game dating. Done it a few times myself. Seen it very often and I have even married a couple on second life before. But I never managed to go from game to real life. But not through lack of trying. However my first two relationships who I met through online dating agency's did not turn out so well. The first who I was Married to for 7 years was a complete ***** and the secone who I was with for 4 years spent most of th time in Africa and I hardly ever saw her. However the current girlfriend I have now is perfict in every way and has been living with me for over a year now. Andshe is the first person I met in real world who I started dating. Make of that what you will. |

Female gamers have a tendency to be socially awkward (or socially inept) attention whores, in very much the same way male gamers are.
If the percentage of female gamers in EVE is in the one-digits (1-9%), the percentage of well adjusted female gamers is an order of magnitude worse.
I am always extremely wary of any females I meet playing games, because to be honest... the G.I.R.L. (Guys In Real Life) are actually easier to get along with.
EDIT: Oh, yeah, don't forget that she'll probably empty your hangars just before she breaks up with you. |

I got my gf into EVE a couple years ago. She runs two accounts, the oldest of which just hit 30,000,000 SP the other day. She's mostly a highsec player, though- gets REALLY frustrated when her crap gets blown up . lol.
EVE is a bit hardcore for her, I think, but she still plays a little. We played Darkfall for a while (I was the one who quit it first- HATED the grind. She still wants to go back to it) and she didn't mind the full loot death penalty... mainly because in that game the loot you lost really wasn't such a big deal. Death in EVE is a lot more serious business kinda thing, so usually when she snuffs it in game she takes a small break before wanting to come back. =D

The main reason for not dating in EvE, is when the relationship ends, and it will end, the jillted party will take ALL your stuff, instead of just half.

My wife and I first met while playing DAOC, so it is possible to meet someone. I'm not convinced it's the easiest or most ideal way to meet someone but it does happen. Unfortunately, she never developed much love for EVE despite multiple attempts to get her into the game.
