2 separate EVE servers

morpho	Posted - 2004.03.04 20:17:00 - [1] I have been reading the boards for quite some time now and I have noticed (as all of you have too im sure) that about 95% of the boards are flames and/or kiddie talk (we are l33t, we will pwn u, we're so uber, kewl, bla bla, and the list goes on and on). I don't know the demographics of EVE, but I'm guessing there are a number of people that play who are older, like above 25 years old. I'm guessing a good part of this older crowd would like to have a more mature game experience. The type of crowd that would want to check the disrespect, name calling, kiddie talk, and chest beating at the door and play like mature adults. Same game with pirates, alliances, PvP, and economy but without the kids that seem to be inventing new ways to convey the most disrespect in the shortest sentence possible. So, all that being said I propose 2 EVE servers. One for the l33t, uber kiddies and one for the mature crowd. Everyone starts in the mature server, but after 3 offenses of disrespect, local smack talk, or any other idiocy you get booted to the kiddie server for at least a month. For the first few that make it to the kiddie server, don't worry....it will fill up fast and you won't be alone. I'm absolutely sure this topic will get locked, but hey it was worth a shot. I'm sure that I'm not alone in this feeling. Flame on!

It's really annoying. I think you could just have two servers: one with no age restrictions and another for 22 or 23+ people. That would be cool. Doubt this will ever happen in EVE. It would take a lot of juice to set something like that up, and I don't think the ROI would ever even out or go black. --------------------------- nether void - since '97

Of course...that's why I based the whole thing on actions, instead of just age. As for the last poster, I must say I think the smacktalk has been getting better since when I started playing EVE but you will still see plenty of it here too. Stick around a while, if you can get over that aspect of the game, it's very fun.

Instead of Tranquility being 7,000 people, Tranquility server would be 500 people and T3h1337r0x3r server would be 6,500 people. So anyone on Tranquility looking to have alot of people to interact with that are mature, are SOL.

As I said a few times it's not practical at all because of costs/administration so of course it would never happen. It would be nice if some would grow up and be civil though, would make the game so much more fun for all. I find it funny how much smack talk is on online games and the intenet as a whole, and how little there is in real life. That tells me how super tough people become when hiding behind a cloak of anonymity.
