So I read the EVElopedia on this thing and it says the first room is fairly easy second room is harder etc. But what the hell do I need to tank the first room? First room breaks my tank in about 1 minute and I have to warp out.

If you read the whole article you'll see that having a tag will make it very easy to just skip the first room. If you don't have the tag, you'll trigger a dozen BSes. That's why the first room is easier (if you have the tag atleast).
However, if you are having that much issue in the first room, you'll likely have even more trouble in the second room. |

I assumed I would have issues in the second room also. What I'm asking is what type of tank do I need to run this level of DED? Or what ship can do it? |

is that the one whith two ranges of sentrys when you warp in ?
If is that one use Ishtar kill all weber sentry first after that is easy if not skip first room whith the tag.

have you tried moving? I can tank this solo in a tengu with a standard med shield booster 2, 1 active therm hardener, and 1 active kin hardener, as long as I keep moving with the 10MN ab on...

I've soloed lvl 5 serp's on sisi in a faction passive shield ishtar with a very close interation of this fitting

Not sure how well that would apply to this specific complex but it's got nearly 95%+ therm/kin shield resist |

I would tend to agree except these plexes have been done thousands of times. The mystery is dead 
To the op, if you are having trouble with the first part of this, it's time to give up or find some friends. The DPS gets significantly higher on each subsequent stage, with the final part having some of the highest DPS in the game. Unless you know what you're doing you can easily end up trying to tank around 50 battleships.

First room was a breeze with a passive-tanked Drake, Fury Scourge, and Warrior IIs. Keep range from the Lord Admirals and kill the other stuff. Then move in for the rest.
Problem, though. I don't have the Shadow Serpentis Cyrstal tag, and there is no Officers' Quarters to shoot!. (Yes, I have LCS on my PvE overview.) None on market either. This is not cool.

I've done this in a cap stable single armor rep ishtar. The first room was a breeze as the ishtar's reisists along with continually moving means it takes little damage. The second room is a different story. It was pretty close. You have to keep moving and get those siege guns taken down asap. |
