Probably.
We need answers to several questions:
1. Is this the official cegeda client or Wine or Cegeda+Windows client? If Wine/Cegeda can you give us the version numbers? 2. Graphics card. 3. Distro <-- What we tell you to do for say Gentoo won't work on Ubuntu, we need this. 4. General system specs (AMD Athlon XP and such)... won't help... but we like to letch at techno-kibble :)
First step, for a Wine install, would be to manually run the client from the terminal. See what error message appears; I'm willing to bet it's a version of "Help, where's the 3D accelerator gone".

Linux noob here and i made it work at first try with Ubutnu 7.10 so that client is not that bad. Got a couple of hangs during the client download thou. I installed nvidida drivers using the integrated add&remove interface and it download the last driver and configuration tool. Used alsa driver for sound. EvE + teamspeak working together with no problem.
The problem is I go from 90/40 fps (in station/outside) to 50/20 :( (athon64 3200/nvidia fx5900/1GB DDR & stuff).
Should I install nvidia driver using the regular way (downloading driver from nvidia, etc) or it is the same if I downloaded it from the add&remove window? (file is naed the same and driver version appear the same).

The driver is installed just fine the way you did it. There is a slightly newer version out (nvidia driver), but I've seen NO differences in performance with the .23 driver over the .19 driver that gutsy installs by default.
For potential fps boosting, see mah thread up top called: Unca Sev's FPS tweaking guide (eve client).
This (the fps guide) is for the official EVE client and could help with some performance issues.
Keep in mind that even with tweaking, EVE is CPU dependent at this point and mileage will vary.
