I've locked an asteroid.. The scanner says it's 11km away.. The target icon says 11km.. But when I activate this Miner II it tells me I have to be within 12km..
So I try to inch my way ever so closer.. But once the container i'm dropping ore in gets 800 meters away.. Then it wont let me drop ore in to the container anymore because I have to be within 1500 meters..
So I finally sort things out.. Have a container close enough. And now the roid is 10km away.. Then 10 minutes later, my miner II's deactivate and it tells me I have to be within 12km.. I'm 10km from the roid!! I didn't even move!! WTF!!
Try to make sense of that.

Being webified at 44km by NPCs and not being able to hit them with your 1400's due to trackingspeed is nice too.
Your 425mm Prototype I Gauss Gun perfectly strikes some nublar, wrecking for 1155.0 damage. |

i dont know how this affect PvP but if it player ship distances are just as screwy as NPC ships i bet m0o evolution and CA would have new reasons to put in theyr ship lost petitions

A m8 of mine had this too. Had a distance of 800m of a can, but it still reported he should be 1500m.
Before the patch you most of the time had that if you destroyed a target, that the firing weapon would fire once or twice, before disengaging. Now yesterday I had the same, but it continued firing for about 10 times. There was no noticable lag, because I still could chat. So perhaps also an out-of-sync problem?
I think the performance upgrades CCP did, backfired or something.

I had 2 identical npcs within 1 km of each other & 50 km from my ship, both running towards me. 60 sec later one was 18 km away & the other was 46 km. That never happened to me before the patch on Wednesday, most odd & I have no idea how one managed to close so quickly & the other didnĘt. All I can say is thank god for large missiles!

Yep the trageting and the distaces are screwed over
can't use a mining laser when I'm told I'm at the right range, cause the tregatting says I'm not in the right range. Cant open a cargo container either becasue of the same bug. I'm practically on top of it and it tells me I need to be in at least 1,500 m to open it.
This a serious bug indeed, and pratcially dangerous ---------------------------------

yep, I can confirm this. Jumpgates don't work occasionally because you're too far away while you're actually hugging it. I've seen sentry guns on my auto-scanner at a distance of 24au from the (same not-working) gate they're supposed to be protecting, and I've had loot cans that couldn't be opened because of this distance-thing. Extremely annoying this.

So all in all, some great changes. Intelligent NPC's.. nice touch, adds spice, I like that. The NPC reports, interesting, but still yet to get something useful out of them. Hopefully soon. NIce to see the bugs from the last patch fixed to
but...
But I hagve to say this, with all new the bugs so far, despite whatthis patch bought, it's caused more hassle
Worst Patch everrrrrr
I mean that in all light heartedness of course ^^
I know you'll do your best to fix this asap ---------------------------------

This morning I had the delight of being informed that I was too close to a gate to warp to it (150km), when I had just left my base station, and so was really quite a long way away. Warping to a different gate, then warping to the intended gate, seemed to sort the problem.

That happened with a moon I was investigating for a hidden base.
Course I never got close enough to it to find one
In fact, warping to plantery objects period just isn't the same either. The planet is farther away than it used to be ---------------------------------

Perhaps related, as it seems to be a sync issue.
I was running 2 accounts simultaneously.
Both undocked from the same station, and warped to the same gate. (some delay between the two as I was switching between windows)
Account 1: ship arrives at gate, and I see the ship from account 2 already at the gate.
switch to account 2: Ship on account 2 is still in warp, not at gate yet.
My ship was showing up at the gate to another player BEFORE IT EVER ARRIVED. Like a 30 sec difference, but no visible lag.
This has happened twice yesterday. I will try to recreate it and get screenshots and logs if possible.
Also, it happened a third time, but the 2nd ship never made it to the gate. it stopped warp in dead space 1.5AU from the gate, but I could still see it and the sentry guns on my autoscanner. I tried initiating warp to the gate, but it said I was too close. Closed that client, and on my 1st account, I saw my 2nd char warp away.
I Definitely do not like the prospect of my ship sitting at a location before I ever get there.

Yes Ti'ana I can confirm what you said. Its out of sync here. I borrowed an account from someone I know (only playing one really) but doing so I have seen this also. And yes, the NPC cans do drop quite at random at times.

Hey, I don't know whats going on but being webbed at 67KM then having the freaking rat fire missiles, which explode as soon as they're fired and I take DMG at 67KM without the missile traveling the distance REALLY is screwy.
Another situation had me hunting out in 0.3, where the rats are pulling another distance impossibilty, starting at 83KM away, dissapearing and then being not even 15KM away with there typical missile spam from hell pounding the hell out of me.
SOMEONE PLZ FIX THIS BIG SCREW UP PLZ!!!!!!

Yes Freya Mjolnir I have to agree on that with the missile spam also. Game got completely off track with a game for many to those who only operate in big fleets with the previous patch in this respect. In short, they lost direction. Making it something for only a very select small group of hardcore players. With the errors for distance of the last patch i'm afraid we're as bad off as with any earlier one. |
