Hi all
I normally stay away from this side of the boards, but a little talk between a group of eve players here at work spawned a look at the two available maps for current eve politics. For anyone with no idea what I'm talking about they are:
Latest
and
Influence
We noticed that they are both good, but each is missing crucial information that the other possesses, so I figured I'd go ahead and make a composite, and figured someone here may be interested as well, so here it is. Sorry if it's been done before or if it's available already, but I couldn't find one.
Without further ado:
Composite
Putting the two together makes for some interesting information as to the current state of the universe, and belays a bit of things to come (or where one or the other hasn't been updated recently, lol). 
I don't currently intend on updating the composite constantly, but I imagine I wouldn't mind doing it regularly (and to much higher quality and effort) if the demand is there.
DISCLAIMER: I make no pretenses as to the currentness or accuracy of either map, only that I used the latest version of both that I could find. I don't take credit for either map in anyway, shape, or form, only for this composite. This is not in anyway a flame post (I have no idea how it could be construed as one, but you never know), only a "Hey, look at that" post, so take it at face value. Enjoy.

the political map ain't been updated since the GBC started losing ground (noone can figure out why). but ISD refuse to remove it from the actively updated maps section even though it hasn't been renewed in months.

I don't mean to come across as too negative, I can see you spent some time on this but I don't see how combining the two maps creates much additional information for anyone. In this case it actually seems a bit more confusing. One of them is horribly outdated, and by merging the two you are in effect creating false or at least very out-dated information.
Personally, I would think a copy of the Political Power Block section from the "latest" map pasted onto the "influence" map with a sprinkling of the war-zones would suffice. Even then, the war-zone information would be a bit of a misrepresentation of actual war zones.
I would actually like to see the "influence" map, with the in-game map statistics of ships killed over 24 hours overlaid onto the appropriate systems. Time lapsed animated gifs released weekly/bi-weekly/monthly, would be something interesting to check out.

Actually, it is pretty amazing that of the 15 groups listed as part of the Alliance that only 3 still currently control any of the same stations they had pre Super Capital fix.

I never heard about Guardian Federation or Imperial Republic of the North as alliances, not to say as to be part of Northern coalition.
Somehow Hydra is missing from that map as part of Northern Coalition.
Please speak with the diplo from your alliance before publishing something like this.

I decided against wasting my time... curious about the lack of updates on http://www.eve-files.com/media/corp/CRII/ perhaps someone went inactive?
Anywho, if someone decides to do a "History of the war", I'd like to see territorial control maps used to illustrate where and when key events took place. The fact that someone has collected this data should come in handy.
