I was in heimtar region yestarday and what I saw makes me sad. Low secs full of haulers, macro haulers (all npc corporations), I mean system with 30-50ppl, haulers jumping 1 per minute. and NO PIRATES. Is pirating dead? No one pop haulers for fun anymore?

Popping macrohaulers means grinding them till they start losing standings from failed missions and even then they'll just keep coming, giving you a 15min global for nothing :-/
Nerfing carriers and most everything nice for a t2 freighter that should be tier 2 isnt balancing ccp :( |

No, the pirate population does exist, but it is nearly beyond unprofitable to sit at a gate popping macro haulers. Doing this for fun does happen from time to time, but getting kills this way gets pretty boring.

CCP ought to increase the collateral penalty and make mission cargo worth stealing in order to combat this.

Yeh i was yarring it up a little recently but it isnt worth the time or sec hit to kill them. Theres no fun to it, no nice loot, and they just keep coming (unless you kill millions of them then they send in some macro pvpers)

Plus there are so many systems now with these macro haulers in them. We will occasionally go out but that's usually when we are bored stupid and there's nothing better to go and do...

I saw some sort of op running out of Taff a few weeks ago if anyone wants to go kill haulers as they jump into Egmar.
You'll know who they are when you get there, pretty easy to spot.

They are everywhere, all through metropolis as well. We spent some time killing them but all they drop is janitors and garbage. Not worth the sec hit to do it.
Maybe some of those pansies from the united could be encouraged to kill some of them. They seem to enjoy that kind of thing. -

Killed 150 or so in a days time, almost all of them unique (no double kills I mean). Ran out of ammo. I'll be getting more soon. :D

Popping macro's and mission runners in Heimatar is my living dude. Everyday I get at least 30-50M in implants which pays for my trader alt to do his thing which in turn gets sent back to my main (with interest) for all those shiney pvp T2 mods and rigs.
Get yourself a ship with some nice high DPS, a semi-decent tank (gank Hyperion or Rokh spring to mind as a insurable option) and pop away to your hearts content.
I can instapop 95% of haulers, the rest go down on the second volley.
My question is though, even though I have surgical strike lvl5 why do my gunners shoot for the cargo hold and blow up my precious wages?!?!

The Tzar: Fire a warning shot across her nose. [Warning shot almost hits macro's hold] The Tzar: Careful, you idiot, I said across her nose, not up it. Crosseyed Gunner: Sorry, sir, I'm doing my best. The Tzar: Who made that man a gunner? Crosseyed Major: I did, sir. He's my cousin. The Tzar: Who is he? Colonel Sandurz: He's an Asshole, sir. The Tzar: I know that! What's his name? Colonel Sandurz: That is his name, sir. Asshole, Major Asshole. The Tzar: And his cousin? Colonel Sandurz: He's an asshole too, sir. Gunner's mate First Class Philip Asshole! The Tzar: How many assholes have we got on this ship, anyhow? [The entire bridge crew, except for one person, stands up and raises a hand.] Entire Bridge Crew: Yo! The Tzar: I knew it. I'm surrounded by assholes! [Closes helmet] Keep firing, assholes!

I'm starting a new alt going for piracy around Heimater.
I guess I can go **** off some of those macro miners at least while I train the basic 15-20min skills up. Last time I chased macrominers, I found a crew of 4 hulks and 1 hauler that kept changing systems to get away from my can-flipping.
At the 5th system, when I warped into a roid-belt before they arrived, I demanded 25 million to leave them alone for the rest of the day. And they paid up.
I guess I can keep it up on a daily basis, and work up some command agent standing so I can keep tracking them around, then demand daily fees to blow their cover to CCP. Which I'll do anyways when I get bored, and rich, enough.

That's a very good idea. Anyone know what would be the easiest way to start a new alt up, and be able to consistently and cost effectively kill macro-haulers, and with the smallest skilling needed (that way it doesn't take time away from my main)?
I'm thinking Minnie, as early on, I doubt amarr would be able to do it well, even without needing ammo (might just take too long to kill the haulers especially with gate guns on you).
