Edited by: Crumplecorn on 21/11/2007 11:44:58 A few days after Bluebird disappeared and with still no response from Gaia on the status of the investigation they believed was underway, her mother contacted Gaia customer service. In hindsight, by waiting patiently for some communication from Gaia they had played right into the hands of the hacker by giving him time to abscond, comparable to allowing a kidnapping to go unreported. Gaia CS responded by encouraging Clementine to file a hacking report, indicating that while these matters are handled in queue they are often resolved within a week. When Clementine realizes she has been hacked she bursts into tears. "I feel like I just witnessed my own murder," she remarks to her mother.
A week passes. During that time an increasingly and palpably depressed Clementine attempts logging on at least once a day. Alas, Bluebird is still banned, in oblivion, or both. After a few weeks pass, Mom re-contacts Gaia. They indicate that Clementine -- despite Terms of Service indicating never to give out one's password across Gaia û- has provided her password to a scammer. There is no recourse suggested.

So do I, the fact that they got her back in means her complete detachment from reality will continue. -

My god! I honestly can't believe that any 13yr old girl is that sad.
To make my world more baerable i'd rather believe that it is the over dramatic writings of this man.
[Quote=Epic Journalist] Clementine, dejected, unenthusiastically searches all of the areas of the site she once frequented, feeling a shadow of her former self.
[Quote=Epic Drama Man] A week passes. During that time an increasingly and palpably depressed Clementine attempts logging on at least once a day
[Quote=Heroic Journalist man SAVES WORLD] The month grinds on for mother and daughter and it becomes clear this will not be resolved through available channels. Intervention by this journalist with Gaia public relations results in Clementine regaining access to Gaia
It's quite clear this epic extravaganza of journalism is being used to cover up for someones lack of news worthy info.
And in other news. Ohh NOES! Don't jump Clementine etc etc. p.s. your named after a fruit! [push]

as does mine. Rule number 1 on the internet. If someone asks for your password it is a scam. An admin at the company concerned would just reset it themselves if they really needed too.

Completely true.
Thats why I love EVE; Its a cold harsh world where anything goes if you're prepared for the consequences of being caught, and so is eve.
Can you imagine if the GHSC set up office in Gaia now that would be entertaining.

That's pretty sad.
What's even sadder is that Clementine shared the PM with her mom and sister and they all decided to give up the password.

EvE is kinda diffrent tho, even tho i do feel sad for killing people some times, thats why i do not kill anyone younger than me in game, since it makes me feel bad, thinking about there hard work getting there and fitting the ship, i think of them as cute litte fluffy noobis, flying around.
if i get attacked, i just allmost kill em, and give em the youtube rick roll link, and tell em to shape up.
But what happend to this littel girl is bad, just think about it.
she is a shy littel girl, whom gets 1h each day to do something she loves, doing, she thinks of it all the time, and cant wait for the next play day. She works hard and loves talking with heer freinds, wich she can trust, and it grows as a part of her life, she feels like the charatcher she has made is her self.
them some emo teen figures out he wants her stuff, and trix heer with pm jedi mind games, and takes heer account and steels everything.
while she belives she its under investigation.
she cant wait to get back and talk and play with her freinds.
she then finds out here whole online life and freinds are taken away from her. she has even shearch the world for here own self.
Tought about getting back every singel day, trying to log on, everyday as well.
and she finds out everything is taken away from heer.
She then crys. oh my poor girl. i feel so sorry for this littel girl.and im very happy she got her online playing time of 1h back and all her stuff as well.
the kids of this age is online.

I don't think the hacker's actions can be necessarily be seen as responsible for the girl's distress. The game facilitates this kind of detachment from reality in the first place. He probably did her a favour. _
