First off this is an alt, the reason I am posting as one is I don't want to offend my corp mates with what I am going to say.
I have been Director of a corp for 2 Months and have tried to push the corp in a direction where all members wil beifit and the corp will grow strong. For a time this was working and all the other directors and the CEO worked to increase corp funds and help newer members obtain cruisers to ensure a strong base.
I feel though now that we have come to a virtual hault. There is no coherance in what we do and the direction we had initially has all but gone.
Now I would prefer not to leave and rally all to the flag but I know this may be a lost cause.
What I want to know is is there a place where an experienced player with a few million skill points and plenty of ships and knowledge to boot would fit in. I have drive and am motivated(and feel like I am writing my CV) anyway. Some idea's would be great.

Don't wish to sound condesending or patronising in any way, but have you tried having fun?
Alot of corps in Eve are run like a corp in RL. People forget the fact that this is a game and you're supposed to be having fun.
Also, alot of players see the accumulation of wealth, possessions and ships as a way of 'scoring' in the game.
Whereas I see fun as the most important thing. Ive been playing this game since last June, I got a millions of skill points, no ships (they all belong to the corp), no money -less than 1m isk, and no named mods. I'm having a great time.
Seriously, if its not fun, disband the corp, do something else. Who the **** wants to log into Eve and go through a similar experience to what you do every day at work in RL?
Or take a break from Eve for awhile. Also, hire some people with some personality. Its more important than skill points and assests. JF for example, only interview and hire people with some wit and charm, however dubious (). Our corp chat and TS talk is great fun.

If anything I will be leaving items and some isk behind, these are good people I have played with and I am not about to screw them. Just because I wish to leave doesn't mean I don't want to stay in contact.

Theres plenty of room for experienced players in other corps.
The problem are you willing to take a big hit in status, from CEO to pleb and have to work your way up again.

Alot of the time, CEO and pleb are the same thing. Anyway, why should that matter? I went from CEO to peon when I joined Jericho. Still having fun, so whats the problem? -------------------------------------------- Dead

Don't get me wrong Miso I am all for having fun and making Eve as far from real life hum drum as possible. This is part of my reason for wanting to move on, its not as much fun trying to help others and build a corp for all to enjoy when various parties just don't see it that way.
I have never been one to accumilate wealth I have always played to enjoy the game and worry about whats in my wallet second.
Tell the truth I have seen various posts from you guys at Jerico and concidered chatting to you in game to see if there is a chance of me joining up.
Just looking for options.

Edited by: DB Preacher on 05/03/2004 10:04:10 If the corp isn't having fun then it's the CEO + Directors to blame. Simple as that.
However, corps can't be full on fun 100% of the time, sometimes you just have to go and find your own fun.
One major problem I had when I was rkk ceo was that a lot of n00bs expected us to be fighting every second of the day and never doing anything else. It simply isn't practical, so we kicked everyone and started again with just the directors and some rl friends. It works 100% better than before and there is no *****ing or complaining.
Things you need for a successful corp: 1 ceo with verbal diahorrea. 1 crazy scotsman. 1 good american. 1 corp *****. (ok... errr 1 corp miso ;) several rl friends. 1 IRC channel used as much as possible. 1 ventrilo server. 1 web page with a GOOD set of forums. 1 corp goal. 1 hamster.
If you get into a corp with the above then you are guaranteed a good time.

As for joining up with Jericho - that means going through one of our infamous interviews... if you can handle Charity's dirty dirty questions, Shintoko's surreal interludes, Jade's innuendo-loaded questions, Omber's playful insanity, and my whippings, you might do ok... convo Jade sometime...with your main

yes it's sun ra related.
I had to spend two weeks doing agent missions to collect hundreds of hamsters for Sun Ra.
Between his awesome music and his hamsters, there isn't a days peace in rkk.

Sounds like you want to be part of an established team with some concrete goals. Tyrell is doing a lot of work getting ready for the Shiva patch and good people with knowledge of the game and lots of drive are always welcome. Please give me a shout in game or register on our forums and shoot me a message.
EDIT: Or you can join Jericho and take part in the corp orgies and Mining Ops of Death. _____ CLS Civil Affairs Bureau

Well the thought of jack boots being standard issue in the corp does hold some benifits!!!

Piece of cake, I was expecting intillectual questions, how much drive I have and what my IQ is. Innuendoes, dirty dirty and surreal are my forte.

Don't worry I have plenty of card to play, although I am sure I am not meant to have 50 jokers in the pack!!
I am pushing my luck here but, is the interview to get in amongst you guys a signed deal, if I pass(and I say IF) will I be expected to join there and then or is there a period of clear up time?

True, but why? Surely if someone's worked up to CEO level in a real life corp, that gives them the experience to jump straight into a upper management role anyway due to them being proven trustworthy and experienced for the corp.

I think you answered your own question there Maud ;-)
Perhaps you should contemplate acquiring a mental issue, or maybe just a really really dark side to your personality?
