I'm fairly sure I heard that part of the reason she was punished was for attempting to use the media to sway the judge/jury/whatever's verdict.
While I don't necessarily agree with everything they did, it would be nice if they took that view in other places, so, for example, celebrities who commit crimes would get the same punishment as anyone else...

You said you didn't necessarily agree with everything they did which sounded like a qualified endorsement of some of what they did which is clearly the wrong answer.
