is that intended? .. cause it's just a splash screen. simple yes/no is sufficient, no need to explain.

Well, splash screen aside I think the client itself has some cpu issues from time to time. It crashed my ventrilo twice today with massive cpu usage spikes

It alwayes had a similar problem not sure if it was 100% CPU but client does have a problem at the login screen alwayes did....and properly it will be like that for ever. I have kid of learned to live with it (bought a new compureter)...even the problem that it use to lag out my computer completely starting up to clientes at the same time.

I'm afraid it is intended...
Somewhere was a information, they ara not able to remove the fullscreen because of some startup problems with mac and/or Linux. So I assume they are doing some dirty tricks to startup EVE at exotic platforms.

Do you have v-sync disabled?
it only takes 4% for me. Basic explanation is that the screen is so simple, any decent vid card can render it so fast that the process becomes cpu bound if you dont have v-sync enabled...meaning that you are likely getting a couple hundred frames per second on the splash screen.
