I don't usually post on these forums(as you can tell from my sig.... 2 mins using paint FTW) but find myself looking for answers so meh
------
when grinding sec status up from -9.9...
is the skill FAST TALK broken? if so how? any idea when its gonna get fixxed? is it any use to me?
are there any other skills that effect sec status grinding, if so what?
any implants that effect me?
any tips/advice?

I found the best way to get ur sec up is to kill npc's in belts. 0.0 is the best if u can find a place to do it.
The skill fast talk increases the rate that ur sec status will go up, so yes it will help you

IIRC there was a dev post recently stating that fast talk does indeed function as intended... However, it does not increase sec gain- it merely reduces sec loss.

Best thing to do. Find a group of quiet 0.0 systems, and go from system to system killing BS spawns, leaving system, and killing another
It DOES work, I just recently took my ss from -8.2 back up to empire levels....
But it still takes awhile

Going from -10 to -2 had a great thread awhile back, think the theoretical number was 34 hrs.
Going from -10 to -5 takes you about day of playtime if you play like insane(me) so 34 hrs might be very reasonable =)

I just Did -10 to -1.6 in about 4 days, quiet 0.0 spot n grind m8. Skills don't help

confirming, the sec raise isnt actually for every rat, it goes by your best kill in the last 15mins or so. but you can bypass that by going to the neighboring system, kill a rat, come back, kill a rat, etc
you can about tripple the sec gain

Go kill 1 BS npc every 10-15 mins in 0.0 - that's the quickest way I know of.
