Edited by: Orivanna on 24/11/2007 00:05:36 Edited by: Orivanna on 24/11/2007 00:04:24 Can anyone help me? Here is my problem, I willl describe it in great detail:
I pick up ANY USB device, it can be a 5 year old keyboard, the newest mice, or a SIMPLE frigging flash drive. Now, on any previous Windows Versions, I could plug any of them in and Windows would assign them generic drivers within seconds and they would all work without any official drivers. NOT the case with Vista.
Vista... does not find ANY drivers at all. What I have to do is to tell it to search my system. It spends TEN MINUTES search the system, telling me it can't find the drivers, and only THEN can I tell it to search in the figgin System 32 folder to find it's own generic drivers. Sure enough it finds them there like it should and everything works well, BUT I have to use this FIFTEEN MINUTE process every single time I get a new flash drive connected to my PC or if I plug in any new USB device at all.
I'm not a computer expert. Can someone PLEASE tell me how to make it look in System 32 folder from the beggining so that I don't have to wait for it to fail looking in some other weird places?
I hate Vista. It took me an hour to get my plug and play keyboard to work, because apparently it recognized it as 4 seperate devices, and for each one I needed to do that 15 min process before it worked. The hell

Get the basic version, remove the sidebar, get TweakUAC to remove all them annoying popups, and voila it's just like XP
