So, after a couple of months out i come back to find that the macro miners have vanished :( Now, i never really liked em but thats the point, thats how i used to make my fun in EVE.
I'm flying round in my SB in Tolle and i come across an ice belt... full of em  Great i think... All is not lost! I fly to a group of 5 maks and flip the can, meanwhile scanning the market for a hauler nearby. To my suprise, one of the maks takes it back, and i start shooting. Hes down to armour and i open up a chat. "100mill for your ship" he gives me the old chinese swearing so i pop him. Fair do's.
I flip the can again and start my warp out to fetch the ity i just bought. Another Mak turns into a red blinky  As before, i attempt a 100 mill ransom... more chinese, he goes pop. This is fun but i could have done with a spare hundred mill.
one more i think... I flip it. Ity Mk5 shows up and takes it back, goes pop. This is too easy. I get into a convo in local about what is happening and a local mining corp who hate the farmers donates some money for my hard work. I log and go out for a night on the beers.
The next morning i'm back... I find out that the group in of farmers is about 15 strong. One of the locals told me that he once worked out what this group must make per year to be around 1,500,000,000,000 ISK. I dont know if this is true or not. This time they have a drake dropping the cans :) I can't take this in my SB so i go grab my Myrmidon  anyway... he goes pop in under a minute (only farmers fit small shield boosters on a drake  )
....So, I flip the can again and come back in my Sb and Cloak. After waiting 30 minutes one of the maks takes back the ice and gets scrammed. I attempt a ransom. "20 mill" in chat. No response. POP. I'm going to be back at them in the morning...
But this is what gets me  They dont pay!!! How much does a Mak cost? They lost 3 and all i wanted was 220mill...
Who wouldn't pay that?! Why do they not pay! WHY! I like the fireworks but i'm out to make a buck... I just want them to pay  What i dont understand is how they can mine ice 23/7 and there not be more than one person using the account.
Thats not right.
The local miners have been great and donated a small ammount of money for every ship i've killed. Please! I urge you! if you don't like farmers! Fly to Tolle... contact me ingame if you want names.

You DO NOT want to take isk from farmers, even as a ransom. If CCP ever wakes up and notices you getting dirty isk your account could be suspended, and they will almost certainly take the isk out of your account, even if you got it through legitimate means.

Looking at this, would it even be an offense to receive a legitimate transfer? Even if the farmer would eventually sell that ISK to someone illegitimately, The ransom being paid is in no way against any agreement...right? Does CCP have any way of determining which transactions are illicit?

1: If they don't understand you, you won't get ransom.
2: CCP does not care about ISK sellers, because the bottom line is, they make money for the company. They pay for accounts, and generate more income for CCP, by suppling all the lazy peeps with easy cash, thereby keeping them paying the monthly fee.
3: How can CCP bash ISK sellers when they sell ISK themselves? (You can argue all you want, but allowing GTC sales ingame is trading cash for ISK)

It's uncool, even amongst pirates and griefers to not honour ransoms. But these guys are talking about Isk farmers, not "real players" and honour is unimportant when dealing with them.

Heres the update.
I went back and flipped a few cans... couldn't get them to agro.  even tried the old 'Look! i've gone away' trick with my stealth bomber. Some peeps showed up to help and we made mining hell for them. They wouldn't respond to chats either. They were very hard to f*** with.
They stopped mining for maybe 2 hours, then started again using secure cans not much more we can do about that...
Suicide?

Check to see if the secure cans have a flashing green light first. If they do just scoop the cans.
Otherwise suicide. You could suicide their hauler once it's done the pick up and then scoop the loot.

Unfortunatly your logic is flawed. The farmers pay to play the game, and make money in the same fashion you do. (we won't get into the semantics of using macros, that's not the argument)
So the correct anology would be you bought my car, and intend to resell it. Which means nothing to me...
BTW, don't you think that CCP could do something about the ISK sellers if they really wanted too? What you fail to comprehend here is that these people are helping CCP make more money. Look at how many lazy people play this game...do you think they would if they couldn't buy isk easily and cheaply?
Not defending them, they create an inflationary spiral that makes it tough on us actual players. But if you look at the MMORPG world, it seems likely they are here to stay.

Not certain your paying attention. A macro user can be sitting in front of the machine. Hell if he has 5 accounts mining at once he would be using a macro on the miners keep up. Over on the couch reading a book and only responds when something goes sideways. I am more of a carebear then not. It makes me ****ed when I have to compete with pukes mining 23/7. The high sec ice would have lasted years. In Riavayed I doubt it will be there into the spring time. Can't war dec them being in npc corps. I don't sell my raw materials online because its only worth me mining for me at this time.

Numbers are a universal language
100000000 followed by '$$' is more meaningful to a non-native speaker than
100 mil or your ship goes pop.
I learned this was effective vs a German ratting.

A buddy of mine had written up a nice guide on "how to talk to chinese farmers" as he was himself chinese. Had some nice copy and paste phrases that came in very handy a few times. Wish I still had the link... If you're resourceful, get a guy who speaks chinese to write you up some common phrases, such as "give me xxx or i blow up your ship" or "will you help me on this mission?" etc
I'm not trying to be racist and say all farmers are chinese or anything, just pointing this out as an option if you notice them replying to you in chinese.
