That may have been what caused them to play wow in the first place. |

Heh, didn't they just drastically reduce the effort needed to level? I guess it's attracting... certain types of players... back to WoW.

Even CCP can't help them now.
Only if they return of their own volition and seek forgiveness can they be redeemed. -

Sounds like they're too far gone to be saved
I suggest writing up their eulogies and informing family and friends of their loss -

They'll be back. Depending on how much WOW they play, you run out of content in about 3 to 6 weeks.

They'll be back when they start getting the brunt of the endless XP and faction grind as they start hitting the higher levels. May take a few months if they really get into it, but eventually the hand-holding approach of WoW and the pointless grind of it will get to them and they'll probably soon enough find themselves missing the open ended sandbox approach of EVE.

Everyone needs a break and you might as well take one with a few friends.
WOW can be fun for a week or two. It's not a bad game but it does get boring. After a few weeks they'll get fed up with it or just plain bored and come back to EVE.

I saw a TV add for W0W today with Mr. T, he's a Night Elf or some such nonsense. In an unrelated topic, I went to college with Mr. T's daughter, she passed out in my bed one night

In preparation for their new expansion they have increased the xp from quest 20-60, nerfed all outdoor elite mobs to make quests that once required a group be solo able. Dungeons still require a full group but the elite mobs level ranges have been evened out so their won't be a big increase in elite mobs levels as you go deeper into a dungeon.
I believe they want give as many players a chance to hit 70 before they launch their new expansion which is going to tack on another 10 levels. I believe Blizzard realizes that few people would want to grind out 80 levels if the xp curve was kept the same. I expect them to do the same with levels 20-70 once the new expansion launchs etc...

I'd agree but a lot of those type of MMO players seem to suffer from undiagnosed autistic like asperger syndrome which makes them enjoy repetitive MMO's.

I've played WoW for 3 years and have a few high end characters for PVP and PVE. It held my interest for most of that time and you don't run out of content in 3-6 weeks. The inability to train all abilities, which has been addressed by PVP games like Fury online, is annoying because there are clear class imbalances-although i see ppl whinging about Amarr in this game so maybe it is issue here-i'm newb so don't know but i would have thought not an issue so much cos u can train every skill. It is however hard to truly immerse urself in WOW because you can't really own or control any area and there is no real incentive to do so except short term in instances such as battlegrounds. I don't know if Wow is more of a grind because I've just started EVE but mining and missions are a real grind so if that is it I won't hang around. The player driven aspect of EVE is what appeals to me so tbh if ur friends are interested in rich developer driven content as one poster put it ,handholding, they may not be back. If they like a more laissez-faire, player driven game then I think that is what would bring them back.

I do LOVE EVE btw but one needs break from it .. and I must say that I *do* enjoy certain parts of grind very much (Hell, I'm playing AO currently ) but still I find EVE rather nice. Thats why I have 2 accounts 60m'ish and 50m'ish even thou I haven't played whole time actively. __________________________________________ I'm a well known whorum warriors alt and my lucky number is 642346.
