1)No 2)No, there have been times where I have changed my social life plans for EVE (stront ftl), but I wouldnt say it has impeded my growth in any way. 3)10-20 depends on many factors, but EVE is now in a back seat role for me with many of my hours semi-afk.

No - I worked with them and they convinced me to play Eve.
Quote: 2) Do you feel that MMORPGs (such as Eve) have been impeded your growth socially? (y/n)
No - This is my first and only MMORPG and just like any other game I can put this down and walk away if/when needed.
Quote: 3) ROUGHLY how many hours per week do you log?
During a good week, or a long weekend like this past weekend 40+. It would be more but I am a college student working full time. ________________________

1. No - have come close a few times, but well other stuff got in the way 2. Yes - There have been times I've spent all night and following day playing Eve and then don't want to go the pub in the evening with my friends. Pre-Eve (1st MMORPG) I always went the pub. 3. 40 Hours.

Urm, i'm not a grammar **** or anything, but by page 4 I thought someone would have picked up on the fact that the question makes no sense, and is actually a little confusing.
I presume you mean to ask "Do you feel that MMORPGs (such as Eve) have impeded your growth socially?" but its also possible (at a stretch) that you meant to ask "Do you feel that MMORPGs (such as Eve) have been impeded by your growth socially?"
just saying.
anyway.

Edited by: Siresa Talesi on 26/11/2007 22:28:17 Edited by: Siresa Talesi on 26/11/2007 22:27:50 1)No, and I do not intend to. I'm probably one of the more cautious people out there when it comes to this kind of thing.
2)I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "[impeding] your growth socially." If you are asking if I feel I lack social skills because of my involvement with MMOs, then the answer is no. If you mean have I missed social opportunities, then yes, there have been times when I have chosen to stay home and play rather than go out and enjoy the company of friends/family.
3)Typically, anywhere between 3-15 hours, sometimes up to 20. Average, about 8-9 hours (2-3 nights/week).
As a side note, personally I believe anyone claiming to be online for 30+ hours/week and doesn't think it has impacted them socially is fooling themselves. If you're spending over 25% of your waking hours, and some have claimed 50-60%, then I don't believe there is any way that can not affect your social life. Of course, I may be wrong, it's just my opinion, but it would take a lot to convince me otherwise.
Lol, Jurgen, yes it is a Bad Idea, been there, done that, glad it's over. I feel for ya, best I can say is that it will eventually come to an end.

1) Not that I know of, though it's possible 2) Eve didn't hit me much for that, it's helped a little in fact, now when I was playing EverQuest, that one definitely did. 3) Use to be close to 40 or 50. Now maybe 30 at the most, Due to work and social activities.
