Quick question. I was in a four person gang yesterday. two miners and two 'protectors' in a .6 system. When the two miners were attacked (not me) i hit the serpentis mercs with everything I had. Seconds later the cops were all over me saying that they had no choice but to waste me because I'd hit an innocent.
What gives? Any ideas/suggestions welcomed.
Weapons and equipment used : light ion blasterx2 : ML2 : 'natos' smartbomb : sheild booster 1.
Also I have a sec rating of 0.8. I did have a 0.0 rating against the fed navy academy until our little showdown now it's -0.2

You might hit one of the miners with the smartbomb, in that case they come to own you.
Also let the miners buy an imicus and use hammerheads as defence, it saves the trouble of 2 defenders and thus increases the efficiency. One of the two protectors buys an Indy and picks up the cargo and bring it away. The other dude becomes a miner too...
This increases your profit.
If you even get an mark 3, you can mine with 8 peeps and get a load more on income. :)
Its boring, but its efficient and makes you earn alot.

Hehe, Yuve got to ver very carefull where you let off those smartbombs, as there not very smart.. Tey hit anything and everything within range.. Same goes for not shooting off missiles at people behind a station..

LOL, ya. Once took out a n00b I was watching when i set off 4 Medium S bombs.
Ya, drones are the way to go. Two drones on each miner will be enough protection. More then enough. Should only need two drones to protect everyone.
