Edited by: Garreck on 26/11/2007 20:08:42 I think great fun was had by all.
Since anything less than at least a cursory battle report will probably continue to get mildly trolled/poked fun at, I'll try and fill in some blanks.
Last night a combined Terra Incognita and Ushra'Khan fleet popped into r3-k7k to make a bit of trouble for the CVA. About 70-80 hostile vessels total were reported, though the CVA killboard analysis of the fight showed 64. In Misaba (the adjacent 0.1 system) TI was also flexing a couple of motherships and carriers, camping the misaba station...this seemed an ideal target, but for the larger fleet of capitals spotted in a nearby lowsec system, doubtless waiting for CVA to make a move on the two motherships and carriers.
R3 (which is cynojammed) would be the focal point of the battle. Hostile fleet began engaging our jump bridge control tower, and our gunners began firing back. Ultimately, most (all?) of the guns at the tower would be disabled, but the jump bridge remained functional and the tower was never put into reinforced.
While the hostiles were engaging our tower's guns, we were putting together a combined Sylph/Severance/Paxton/CVA fleet. Conjuring a gang of 80, we moved into position from various directions...the attack was a bit of a surprise, so getting the appropriate fleet in place was a bit dicey and creative.
After some posturing and positioning, our main force jumped in from x-r3 with smatterings of vessels joining from n8x and misaba once the shooting started. By the CVA killboard, 82 involved from the CVA/allied fleet vs 64 involved from the TI/U'K fleet. 19 battleships destroyed for the goodguys ( ) 3 lost...various support also lost by either side. Paxton, Sylph, and Severance would need to report their own losses, of course, though we were told their losses were "surprisingly light."
As a fun side note, I personally accounted for 1/4 of the CVA's isk loss...Claymore attempting to sprint from jump-bridge to inside control tower shield (lag and an ushra'khan rapier had other plans...old buddy Zoolkhan laid the final blow which actually made me smile) and a megathron in the "actual" fight.
