As many people know there are a few aspects of the game which are just plain time consuming and boring, but are none the less vital and important.
This can be just about anything POS related, mining ops, long travel, gate camps....
I was thinking during a POS shield repping op, wouldn't it be great if there where just some small mini games that we could fiddle with while we do this monotones tasks.
Small games like, tetris, asteroids, lights out, space invader, (so on)
They could sit on the left menu, when you select the option a window pops up with a list of all the games. Select the desired game and poof, the simple little game starts in it's own little window.
When ever this window is minimized it automatically pauses it, so you can do what you have to (i.e move your ore to you jet can) then you can continue with your little time killer.
There is no reason we have to use pre existing games (like the examples I gave earlier), if anyone has a good idea for some original Amarr, Caldari, Gallente or Minmatar games that would be awesome as well.

Just want to say, holy crap this is an awesome idea.
Why this hasn't been implemented, while I'm sure there are reasons, still should be relooked. A new left bar menu with a few mini games would be awesome. Might be a bit of a dream, but would be fun to submit your high scores to a universal scoreboard, like is common in a lot of out of game flash games these days.
I love it... really can't say that enough. Cheers for the post!

Trust me I understand the irony of having to entertain yourself, while your playing a game, but until watching your cargo fill with ore, or watching the POS shields get repped up after 4 hours becomes some how more entertaining.
We need something to help keep us amused.

Sure it can be a wonderful thing... But the minigame window shouldnt be too big, because you have to watch your local, especially if you're working in low sec ^^

Actually if someone could come up with some games that involved spending some ISK it would be hilarious. If we could play against each other for ISK how fun would that be?

I like the idea of a card game or something. Could be an option in the right click menu in gang or something.

Sounds like a good idea...
Take it further though. Intergalactic casino that you can access from you nav-computer in your pod!
You have a few games like Missile Command, Space Invaders, etc. that are old arcade classics. Each of these costs 0.10 ISK to play and you can submit your score to the high score board.
The real challenge is in the games like Black Jack, Roulette etc. in which you play again with 0.10 ISK chips and you can actually win ISK. It would be a great idea.
It would add a random element to EVE that would be interesting without being big enough to matter... after all, if the win is only say 100,000 ISK at most in any on the games it's nothing that someone will be ecstatic about but it's enough to actually consider playing seriously.
(And if anyone forms a "Gambling Addicts" chat room they get missiles and lasers to the face... agreed).
