Here's what happen
I wanted to get a sample of the new graphics engine. i made a copy (named the folder "eve - copy") and patched it. Played with it for a little bit and drooled over the new stuff. Then i went to play the old client and it will give you that first screen before the login screen... vanish and do nothing. So i deleted the Patched Eve game files thinking maybe it's having a conflict somehow. Nope, same thing. Uninstall Eve... Restart puter. Install Eve Client again... Same thing happens. Nothing happens after that little "revelations 2" box. I even used my system mechanic's reg fixer. Still no help. :( So now i'm stumped and i can't find anything in the forums.
Any suggestions?

Think I found a temporary workaround. Delete the folder C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE but keep it in your recycle bin. Can now get to the login screen but with this folder gone you will lose your overview settings, etc. Looks like it might be an issue with the old patcher getting overwritten by the new install as it uses the same cache. Hopefully devs will find a proper fix..

Works for me, thanks.
Since I prefer losing my overview settings rather than losing more SP, its a good solution.
BTW: Now I can run both clients as long as I dont activate HDR on Sisi. My GPU has no problem with HDR, but it seems to mess up the prefs.ini of the TQ client.

if you forget to add the /end /lua:off switches to your test shortcut then the test install shares the eve cache which will cause your normal client to stop working either delete the cache or read the stickies in the development forum on how to access sisi.

You are using Vista, right? For XP you should use /end /server:87.237.38.50 or read the stickies in the development forum on how to access sisi.
Thats what I did and had the problem with the cache.
