Mistress Suffering
Einherjar Rising
|
Posted - 2007.11.28 07:11:00 -
[1]
After stirring the hornet's nest that is BWF tonight we decided to go for a roam. We had a dozen people in gang of mixed ethnicity with Einherjar Rising, Multiversal Enterprise Inc., Incognito Inc, Prophets of a Damned Universe, and our token Aftermath Alliance pilot. One tanked BS, one nano, 3 dictors, and some assorted cruisers and frigates.
We headed through lowsec and over to the other Geminate entrance and started poking around with scouts out looking for food. Dark Assassin15 scouting the AD-5B8 system calls out that there's a Nyx in system and a couple other locals currently at a beacon.
It turns out to be at the Eugrana gate. Dark says he can bubble it and jump out, then come back to hold him down but there's no way we've got enough DPS to actually kill it, let alone the gang it will certainly summon.
Screw that, grab it, I guarantee that if we announce we have a Nyx tackled we'll have a dozen more guys here in a flash. Who passes up a Nyx kill after all?
He does so and we warp in. The early gang has 3 dictors so we cycle through them and and the real trick is keeping people alive. He's got long range webs, neuts, and is pounding on our guys. One of the dictors explodes, the Armageddon gets pinned down and is in danger of dying but a well placed bump pushes him out of scramble range and allows him to warp off.
The word goes out and unsurprisingly people respond. Our initial gang of 12 grows and the word goes out to any friendlies even vaguely nearby. Lots of these guys are hostile to each other, so we had to get them all in gang to stop shooting at each other. Blackwatch Legionairres and Divine Retribution get added to the gang and we get a cynoer to the system and the gang grows.
The funny thing was that almost all our available cap pilots still online this time of night were at the scene and couldn't leave, so we only managed to cyno one carrier in and otherwise did the entire fight with sub-capitals. Final gang topped out at 36.
Pure. didn't get a serious sized gang into system until the Nyx was in structure. We burned off those that got close so they didn't kill our dictor and kept damage focused on the Nyx. Our gang remained too strong for them and we killed off several, finished the Nyx, and then chased off the rest.
Thanks to all who joined in, and thanks to the Nyx pilot who remained civil throughout. Word is that he just acquired an Erebus and was going to sell the Nyx. Whatever the case, it was our first Mothership kill and it was a blast.

That was a fun fight. Plain and simple, our bomber wing (minus our hound which was doing insane damage vs armor)was completely focused on take out the support and drone. We must have killed several dozen, then the focus was incredible. Kudos to all involved. -----

Really great teamwork, came together very nicely. Congrats to Triumvirate for delaying the Pure response gang. :-)
Nyx pilot was very cool and took the loss properly. He even gave us advice afterwards!

Lol yeh right. Motherships were NEVER meant for lone combat. Lone mother ships, look 20 people, i have no support. The immediate response: Run away.
And obviously i meant jump out when the dictor comes into local. Its just like ratting in a bs, u see one hostile come in, u safespot, doesnt matter if u think u can take him, cos he could have 100 mates next door. Which he should have known, because he should have had a scout in the system with the hostiles.

Sugar-coating it by saying you don't "smack those I respect" is akin to saying "I don't crap on just anyone's garden". Is there any smacker that will admit to smacking anyone he respects? In other words, that is your excuse and license to smack.

Geminate isn't Pure Space, and their space is actually quite a few jumps away. Word got through to SMASHKill that it was under attack about 2 minutes before it died. We got a fleet up and were told it was too late, that it had died.
On the otherhand, we recently fought 2 moms and 10-16 carriers, in a cyno jammed system unable to bring any of our own along :\ 4 hr epic battle, would have been 4 minutes if we had our own caps.
I dunno what a mothership is doing alone on a gate, IRC had huge support for theirs, in a cyno jammed system and they 'just' got out. One sitting on a gate these days is certain death. They really have issues killing smaller ships, or anything out of warp disruption range.

The pre Mothership in AD story goes a little somthing like this... I was he only one in AD when the Mothership was jumped in.
An Inty Mark 5 jumped into system from Euragana, and I locked it down and started firing.
Once I was enganged with my rapier, the industrial popped a cyno and the Mothership came in. I'm not sure if I sprung the trap, or there was something expensive being hauled...

1. Your first post was not on topic and it was ****. If I'm not mistaken, it was also the first smack posted in this thread.
2. I really think you have little or no room to discuss anyone's grasp and/or use of the English language given your own examples of jumping to baseless conclusions, poor reading comprehension and grammar.

I was hanging around in Airaken trying to figure out how to enter the hottest female pilot in Eve contest (I am easily the winner) when I get the call of a Mothership tackeled. So I suit up, brush my gorgeous blond hair and jump into a brand spanking new Guardian and set destination to AD-5B8. Exit the staion and Yikes!- it's like 8 jumps out! So I burn it as fast as i can, expecting a huge calvary to come to the mothership rescue before I arrive.
I can hear the chatter on com how the battle is going. A few minutes later, I arrive in system and warp in at about 60km just in time as our battleship pilots are runing out of armor and capacitor. Our Mega is getting nervous and asking for armor repair. Train 4 large armor reppers on him and he is holding even. After easing his pain, the number one damage dealing battleship on the kill mail calls for armor repair and cap. No problem- dax has lots of love to disperse. After the second BS is cured, I switch over to the interdictor pilot who is nervous about getting popped.
The Nyx pilot did a great job switching targets and the Broadcast Armor button is like taking orders at "In n Out" burger on a friday night. I did not make it on the kill mail but was happy to lead in assists rather than points scored.

I was there from the first shot, and until the last.
I can confirm that this was, in fact, epic.
When we first locked it down comms we're super empty and quiet, thought there's no way we'd get more than 3-4 more guys to add to our gang. Apparently Nyx's in bubbles wake people up, and we saw huge support coming through after the first 10 minutes of the fight.
Mothership pilot was competent, and had a decent tank. Switched targets regularly, and gave us a few scares. It was right down to the wire, but at the end of the day we just had amazing dictor work going on. So props to those guys for sure, we owe them the kill.

Just a bit more of the discovered intel.
The Nyx pilot wasn't just sitting on the gate popping shuttles. Apparently he just got caught at exactly the right moment at a midpoint cyno stop, while waiting for his cap to recharge to jump out again. Unlucky on his part, lucky on ours. The initial tackle was only by I believe a rapier and a dictor, and the first response gang wouldn't have been enough to scare him. We just happened to have a lot of un-tasked pilots available close enough to respond. It was a case of grabbing what we had available, and going to the fight. Many of us, myself included, didn't even all have compatible communications installed, and that was done on the fly while warping between gates. There was even a flurry of standings changes done during the fight.
He did have a backup fleet inbound, but they had to break through a TRI fleet on the way. They came through that in fair numbers, but it delayed them just long enough. Had they arrived a few minutes earlier it may not have changed the outcome but would have really increased our cost. Judging by what they brought into that last stage of the fight, things would have been real interesting and I wouldn't have made any bets either way. Not a huge fleet, but if it still had the Mothership to back it up...... it would have been real close.
The simple facts are it was a great fight on both sides, nobody got it all perfect but nobody made any major mistakes either. Orion definitely earned a some respect from us all that night.

It was deffinitely hectic, I was changing standings while shooting a nyx, while building a raven to shoot it some more. When the Raven came in I had been in such a rush that 3 of its launchers were offline. Lol.

well...reading trhough all the postest this seem that happened for me:
MOM pilot is moving a cyno char around making cynos for him. Since hes gonna jump a lot he chooses to put his cyno alt in a Hauler.(for all the liquid ozone needed) I myself usually use a blockaderunner for the same purpose.(its expesive losing rigged up t2/faction fitted rapiers.) hes prob fitted up with cloak and such, doing the moving carefully and properly.
When he jump the cyno alts hauler into the system he gets tackled by the Enherjers scout in a Rapier. The mom pilot prob get some adrenaline and a bit mad, ****ed off getting delayed/losing his alt. I know this myself....losing my alt to someone when trying to do the tiresome work of moving around my cap is just ...baaah
So he jump in the mom to wtfbbq and maybe even save the alt... and thats at this point he does the horrible mistake....he couldnt keep his mind clear and risked his 20-30bill ship for a sake of a 500k hauler.
nice read up and great work taking the mom down:)

You really put no thought or effort into your posts and it seams all you want to do is have the last say in any matter... regardless of what you are actually saying.
You seem to put much emphasis on speling of the inglish language, when your posts are an offence to every man who has an ounce of logic.
You smack talk every being who as you put it "you donĘt respect" and you claim to represent you alliance by saying "we". Of course the fact that you are hiding behind burn eden's skirt these days speaks volumes of your pvp ability, and reflects poorly on an otherwise fantastic alliance.
Really i am surprised that burn eden hasnĘt kicked you out yet...
I am certain this wont be the last i see of you in this thread or this forum, but your response is bound to be nonsensical babble that really needs no reply.

This must be exactly what happened. The industrial alt was tackled at the gate so he couldn't move to a safer location to jump in the mothership.

Orion definitely earned a some respect from us all that night.
im a carrier pilot, i sometimes jump my carrier. When i jump said carrier i have a cloak fit like this mom did, when i jump my carrier i don't cyno at gates and i do use the cloak. there is no way he was just sitting and waiting for his cap to recharge
well...reading trhough all the postest this seem that happened for me:
Actually you are wrong, i am the one who bubbled the Nyx and the nyx was on scan with the hauler and the cyno up when i came in, i did directional saw him on the gate after i jumped in, i thought he was at a pos or somethin, he ended up bein like 10k off the gate, bubbled, had gang come in, and over time we got enuf people to kill him and he eventually started running out of cap.

This.
The rapier, me, was merely the fastest to warp in and start shooting the bastard after the scout bubbled him (******* amazing job). I had been moving somewhat ahead of the group, but the rest of them followed in the next 20-30 seconds or so.
Story of the day is our 3 dictors who kept this guy locked down by warping/jumping in and out and placing the bubbles exactly where they needed to be. Second to that were our logisitcs ships who kept losses to a surprising minimum, and kept those dictors alive in the last minutes of the battle following the enemy fleet's warp in.

The dictor pilots where amazing in this fight as they should each have been dead a couple times. The Gaurdian was a BIG help too and was the reason the losses where so few.
In fact, we almost didn't get any cap support. A throw away Cyno alt Condor was rushed to the scene hoping we could raise some caps and only the one carrier on the mail ever jumped to support. The funny part was the Gaurdian keeping the little Condor alive through the entire Cyno in spite of a very determined effort and multiple waves of fighters and drones from the MS trying to kill him. It turned out we didn't need the Cyno up the whole time as no other Cap could support but it was fun to see it survive until after the kill when PURE response fleet arrived.
Great job to the 20 or so guys who didn't make the mail but were absolutely necessary since as it went down the cavalry arrived with only 10% structure left. If anyone of those guys didn't show up this could have gone down very differently.

120/5/120/40~though about the last 3-4 times I reincarnated I ran tact clout because it is great. Tact clout just lets you feel like you're doing more for the win. Kind of like showing up on a Nyx killmail instead of getting truncated off it.

Almost everyone ran tac/clout, not just the people here. It plain works better, you've got better poccers/anti-poccers and more of them. Sure Eduers are useful for running backfield harassment and AA and such, but they don't make the big plays.

What Tact, Clout, Edu, and MechAPT mean
Tact: every 20 points = 1 extra unit per squad in battle, 20tacts = 7units, 40=8, 60=9, 80=10
Clout gives you a better unit quality to upgrade your units in the lab, to higher MKĘs or even a new unit chassis.
Example 18 clout can upgrade a lvl 25Imp into a Daeva.
For every Clout Point you get half a point of Unit Quality (UQ for short). To upgrade your units faster through the Marks (MKs for short) and also for getting more advanced unit chassis and Organics faster. When your unit increases in the MKs you get more space which makes room for some of the more spacious armors, and also gives you extra armor/health points/range/speed which increases as MK increases. Clouters make great POCing (POC and POCing will be explained later) units, but aren't the best stats overall for this Planet.

Simple Answer to SG questions in eve terms
Tac = more gang mate Clout = Good Tanking Skills Edu = T2 Weapons. Well, t120 if you are that good mech = More Slots
Ok, not exactly perfect but will suffice. What this has to do with a Nyx is that the Nyx pilot did not have enough tac (i.e Gangmates) with him, while Einherjar dropped a bunch of eduers for long enough on the poc to secure EG.... ack, perhaps this is enough of the SG analogies for one day. --

Yeah, he had plenty of fighters. Every time he popped em out I'd web a few and we'd kill em, I think his smarties may have knocked out a few of his own fighters too.
We popped what remained of the fighters after the Nyx went down, as a growing Pure/Smash/Roadkill gang was breathing down our necks.
He was, however, using tech 1 drones. I think he had a few valk II's, but I don't think I saw any others.

Sounds like Einherjar + friends had some fun and enjoyed there kill quite a bit. - Props!
In responce to someone asking if pure was going to respond, well, would you? Lets be honest here, the Nyx pilot was pretty stupid for gate camping pretty much solo.
Only time RK brings out even a carrier we know we have a gang in wait within a short distance.
I wasn't online at the time, but I heard when RK was informed we rushed to the system to help out but we didn't get the word until it was basicly to late. Though many RK members dislike helping out others that make foolish mistakes. Don't know how many carriers I've gone and saved after ratting in belts and getting tackled by hostiles. Most of the time they learn from that mistake.
Though learning not to gate camp in a NYX is..well a huge stupid loss.. at least if you loose a fleet fight at least it has a purpose.

Thanks for the kudos guys for my Guardian assist. really no big deal. However, I think in my haste I might have accidentally targeted and repped for one cycle of those pesky fighters OOPS!! Did I mention I am a Blonde?
My new policy is to only remote armor rep male pilots who vote for me in the hottest female pilot in Eve contest or freindly female pilots who admit in local I am hotter than they are. Yes i am vain, but I admit it.
In addition, in the new Trinity release, I hope CCP improves the bathrooms at the station with compatible hair dryer outlets and seeds a few quality spa's. I love being pampered after a long day on the battlefield stuck in a coffin of gel. Hottie's like me have to have a nice place with a Star view to relax and get a full body massage, have my nails painted, and get my hair washed and blow dried. So while everybody gets all excited about the new graphics, I focus on the really important stuff. Pure has policies against posting in CAOD and smacking in local. Which is the reason you don't see them posting here, and the reason why you don't see them smacking in local. --- Mining hulls for the juicy goods inside.

As pointed out earlier in the thread, the nyx was made from stolen parts, I'm not sure he deserves any kudos, it was someone else's effort he tossed away by gate camping a 0.0 gate with it.

I'm not sorry we killed the Nyx, but it sucks how this worked out for you Dobar. Sounds to me like Orion is being dishonorable here. You likely would've never seen a dime of it anyway, so just let this guy be a fool publicly.

gosh.... this is all a bit interesting, isn't it?
pure members aren't allowed to post in caod... a simple yet effective rule that's allowed the alliance to grow into one of the biggest entities in game without anyone having any real clue as to who we are... the pure policy is to "keep under the radar"....
however, i'm blatantly breaking rank because drantis has seen fit to kick me in the nuts for commenting on this very matter in a completely truthful way... therefore, i'll now post as and when i see fit about pure in relation to owt that might be interesting to me or the general community.... i predict i won't be a member of pure alliance for much longer....
anyways, the situation with orion is that most people think he's a complete moron and are pretty happy he lost the mothership, albeit it reflects badly on the alliance. as you can see from the dobar mail, he's arrogant and a bit educationally sub-normal... he's recently threatened to grief one of my corpies out of the game for not selling him some cap components that he said he would...
one of pure's deep-rooted policies is also not to pirate in low sec... and that's pretty much adhered to. unless you're orion and have a nyx. then you can camp the likes of tannolen, jan and nalvula as much as you like. go crazy, buddy!
the crux of the matter is that although people would like him gone, they're unable to enforce it because his ceo refuses to give him the boot. that's right - an individual ceo wields more power than the alliance president and it's just accepted as a fact.
just a small insight into the comedy blizzard going on behind the stonewall of silence.
next up: this weekend's operation in the dronelands.

Good riddance ****** its about time you let your *****es sort their own problems out. Quite interesting considering that your post is mostly about me having nothing to do with the involved parties on the thread.
Your mom! (Sorry, I know that was bad taste, but I couldn't resist.
I give your trolling 3/10.
A considerably higher score than the rest of eve gives your pvp skills.
Which would be a slightly improved troll, if the rest of EVE even knew who I was.
Is that it your best sunday punch response?.
YOU FAIL .
Dear Mr. Limabean
I have been given the duty of informing you that you are an idiot.
I am certain this wont be the last i see of you in this thread or this forum, but your response is bound to be nonsensical babble that really needs no reply.
ps. if you want to be the next big forum *****/troll... you need a gimmick. Being a **** head to everyone only gets you half way there.
I must have missed the vote that gave you the duty of informing me although you later claim that my aparant nonsensical babble needs no reply?. Does that mean your the ****** who gets the poinless jobs or are you as bad at this as you claim i am?.
Why is it that self important *******s like you think you need to reply "Dear MR" as if your writing a letter?. Oh and also my skills and kills need no supporting nor do i need to hide behind anybody unlike some entire alliances on this thread.

sounds like a repeat of what happened to m.pire a few months back with the first low-sec mom kill. dumbass has cap builder build him a mom, shafts him for the payment, and gets popped in comically stupid way. all we need now is for miz to get popped in the mom he shafted RA/SMASH for, and we'll have the beginnings of a nice trend.
and on another note, hope the likes of miz is looking forward to the changes to moms and high-sec pos-warfare coming in trin

Alot of people here are talking hight and mighty, calling people scum and the like... but i really cant see you losing a mom and paying the guy you bought it from back.
If he gave it to you free then really all i can say is... stupid mistake. Should really never have expected any pay back. Then tbfh... i would expect alot of you idiot trolls to have quit a matter of hours after losing a mom. Thus not paying back the guy you got it off anyway... but here you all are... taking the moral high ground.
And eeevans... lololol... if everyone hates the mom pilot so much... how is it your getting kicked and he's not?

Speaking as someone who spent a fair amount of game time sticking up for the mom pilot ( yes I regret that now ) the mom pilot was generally abrasive to a lot of people after we (my former corp) joined Pure.
I'm also going to point out that Eeevans and I never came close to getting along, but he's completely right about what he's saying here as far as alliance structure, rules, and how a percentage of people viewed orion1234 in Pure.
