to be honest, i am not a fan of microsoft products but ccp has a very good knowledge with those products. i am quite sure, oracle could make the database operation faster.
switching databases means ccp has to get new db engineers and i think that doesnt make any sense. stay with the current products and improve it!

TPC-C is foremost a hardware benchmark you need to compare only the same hardware + benchmark results don't have to be the same as TQ workload ----------- - server side event filtering for turret and effects - module grouping for less server calls - fix grid loading isses - document the SM3 detection |

Firstly, lawl.... Oracrap? :/ You're on ***** to think that would make dev, lag or anything besides the cost of the game go up. A pure legacy pain in the arse :/
But hay while we're at asking for incredibly unlikely things : hi CCP, liek could you move to FreeBSD 7-Current and PostgreSQL?! its fazt and makes you gain uber epeen.
Here's a nice pdf with sum benchmarks : http://people.freebsd.org/~kris/scaling/7.0%20Preview.pdf - We are comparing apples to oranges, I tried my hardest to find benches that left windows out.
Hurrrrr... so bout the weather eh? |

However, those who follow the MS bandwagon never know what is REALLY superior.
