I'm not a pirate. This feature, if implemented a month ago, would have saved me 10s of millions. BUT IT IS JUST STUPID.
ANYONE can now log off and instead of waiting 2 minutes... they're safe! Automatically! The entire PvP system has been carebeared--whats the point of killing people if they can log and quit instantly?

Sadly you will encouter a lot of people who'll try to defend this act of stupidity. -- Stories: #1 --

Well ms Sally, I will defend it to a point.
That is, now worthless exploiting vermen cannot use login tactics to catch myself, my friends or anyone else for that matter.
Sitting waiting for them to warp back to the point where they logged is also quiet funny, especially when you try to feel what they feel .... loggin in ... entering space ..... warping .... OMFG-NOOOOO ...... Tenacha Khan warp scrambles you ..... clone activated, hehe gotta love that

If you're in a position to kill said person, then there isn't much reason to complain. They don't just 'auto warp'; they first have to align and get up to speed, taking just as much time as the player would have if he/she were contolling it. And warp scrambles work just the same. So if someone manages to log and warp out, it means they were capable of warping out manually, and thus you wouldn't have had the kill anyways.
It's a good system imo to protect those that CTD, has a bit of realism (autopilot takes over when your neural link is disconnected), and still leaves a pilot at risk. The ship, though 1mil km away, is not going to disappear and thus is still at risk (though it will take some time to reach). ______________

As someone who obviously are into PvP... ... don't you think it's time for you to figure out what a warp scrambler is used for

Actually, it's starting to annoy me as well, everyone time I ctd in the middle of a roid belt with my drones out, I get warped off to a random place and lose more drones. They either disappear or just get nuked by npcs. It also doesn't help that since the last 2 patches I ctd fairly regularly now, but that whine is for a different post.
I agree something needed to be done about the log in insta gank, but i'm not sure this is the best solution. Unless I get a corpmate to keep me warp scrambled at all times while mining, hmm, that might work. ----------- "Remember people: Omber is the biggest evil ever created, DO NOT let it get to you!" How about if the ship has 30 seconds where it continues at full speed, then has to turn completely around before it warps?
If not the 30 seconds, then at least make them spin around so there is at least an extremely chance

This autowrap thingy is reasonable only and only if there is a delay before the ship warps out. 30 seconds is minimum. I'd go for 1 minute

That's not true. If someone warps to a planet and logs off while doing so, his ship will not take a long time to realign in order to warp away to a safe spot. I have seen people warping away just in the direction they were looking to. And I have been behind people who would have to do a 180 degree turn in order to warp out to be safe (because there were no more objects in front of them to warp out) and a 180 degree turn takes ages in a battleship since the Spaceship Command nerf. The auto-warp-away feature saved them. -- Stories: #1 --

...I have yet to see you acknowledge that you can warp scramble them.

i have to agree with the warp thing as being stupid...its totally stupid...and usually i like to leave one ship in a spot where i was mining to switch char's to haul with then pick back up mining after..but nooooo... now the ship warps out and back and is 15km from where it should be..stupid...and if you warp out to stop from being podded you can always cancel the warp back

If you're stupid enough to simply warp to a planet and log off, you deserve to lose your ship.
There are ways of warping to nowhere.
So, in my mind, this is a good feature. ------------- My salsa makes all the pretty girls want to dance and take off their underpants. I <3 ( . Y . ) |

i get disco'd every twenty minutes and this auto-warp is the only thing keeping me sane.
the thought of logging out to avoid a ganking would never occur to me. i wonder, who are these "entire PvP system" of whom you speak? perhaps, a couple dozen annoying brats who are quite possible to ignore. |
