Hi guys
So i was reading PC gamer about 3 months ago and i remember something i read. On a *exciting* graphics scale eve was rated the worst. i.e being the *blandest*, meaning, very nice graphics in terms of the game itself but graphical patterns of ships and stations where not so.
It seems to me that CCP have made Trinity good and well. Ive seen the new trailer and it looks great and i think it will attract alot more people to the game.
But what do you think.
Do you think Trinity has been done because they wanted to. or because of media i.e gamers media constant bad reviews?
Discuss and please for the love of god, keep the damn smack out.

trinitys been in the pipeline a lot longer than 3 months, and whilst the graphics were pretty stunning when eve first came out it does look a bit shabby these days.
i doubt CCP bowed to 'media pressure' more than any other dev does when they decide to make their game pretty.

In one of the video clips of the fanfest they said that trinity work started about two years ago, and I have an EON 3 which has new renders of certain ships. So its been going on a while.

when eve came out it could compete with any space game out at the time. of course by 2007 eve was lackluster by todays standards, hardly see why they should be comparing it to any other games after so many years based on graphics.
when X3 reunion came out it certainly raised the bar for what to expect out of space games graphics wise, some gaming sites still use X3 for benchmarking.
i think CCP made it to keep the game current and because they wanted to, i mean they are not pushing EVE online 2 or EVE online X to make money they made an open game with no artificial boundries that people could play for years.
of course if they keep up with the curve and keep the gfx up to spec and continue to improve the game, for the most part, they keep more subscribers instead of like other mmos where is an definate end game and its all the same thing. so every time a new mmo comes out people eagerly look to its graphics and they loose more and more people even if the game is the exact same game they just left with prettier eye candy.
