i have a Saphire X800 GTO2 256MByte, overclocked @ 530mhz\520mhz
cpu: e4500 core2 duo, @ 2.5ghz
2gb if kingston value ram.
will it run the new eve graphics?
note: i can not afford a new graphics card.

Well to continue along this vein, I've loaded everything available to me, downloaded new drivers for my graphics card and I still don't see the new graphics on the test server, so I'm forced to ask if my graphics card will be capable of running the game with the new graphics.
My card is a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
Thanks, I know this is a PIA, but I wanted to know if I needed to put a new card on my shopping list.

Well that is what I was afraid of, now I need to do a bit of shopping it seems.

8800gt is currently the best value dx 9 (and 10 - it will run eve with the dx10 patch next spring [rev 3.]) around, it's also rare like gold dust with everyone after them

8800gt + PCI-E Mainboard + RAM + CPU for EVE with SM3.0? ROFL, never. CCP is to insert dear SM2.0. I do not need HDR and Bloom-Effects.

Seriously, SM3 is OLD news in the video card world; my 3yo card supports it. Let CCP actually, I dunno, USE MODERN TECH OMG isn't that the point of this upgrade? ...
And also in the devblogs, they stated that they broke the SM2 instruction limit. Guess that leaves SM3!

If you dont not want/cant afford to upgrade just for EVE, then dont.
Just use the existing graphics with the EVE classic version that is the default...you wont have to download any huge patch, it will be like nothing changed.

How about this, where can someone find out what graphics cards will run the new patch? I have no idea if my 5200 supports anything but Mario Bros., but then again I'm a noob with pc stuff.

I'm sorry, it wont work with it, if want to search for cheap sm3 card and need to know what graphic cards support SM3, look here: Clicky!
And remember, there will be always classic version from EVE, don't worry!
