I've been getting increasingly angry with Tiscali over the past few days. Check the link...

So I've decided not to take their crap any more and stand up for players of Eve all over the Tiscali network. This is a letter I sent off to BBC's Watchdog earlier tonight. I hope it brings a warm feeling to your heart as you stare at the failed log in screen.

I pay ú14.99 per month for Tiscali's 'unlimited' broadband service. For the last 3 days I have been unable to connect to the online game 'Eve Online' (which I pay over ú10 per month for) due to Tiscali blocking the connection during peak hours.
I am not the only Tiscali member to have this problem. Several forums document this issue dating back almost 6 months.
Initially Tiscali assured me that they did not limit internet usage at any times (as they have told others in my situation).
But tonight I made a more forceful phone call and pointed to the evidence of 2 other Eve Online gamers (with Tiscali) who got disconnected at EXACTLY the same time as me. I also pointed to their own forums which also mention this problem. They admitted that high network loads are the reason they have to 'cap' the usage.
Eve Online does not take a huge amount of bandwidth and other ISPs seem to manage just fine. But Tiscali have been 'dealing' with this issue for months now with no sign of a solution.
Tiscali require a 12 month contract period and I know of several gamers who have signed up for 'unlimited' broadband and then found their game time restricted.
I would suggest that 'unlimited' broadband should mean unlimited and they are in breach of contract or at least guilty of misleading their customers.

I salute you for standing up to the rubbish that is Tiscali, i am an ex-customer and have never been happier since leaving them and their poor service and customer support, i really do hope they get the kicking they so rightly deserve :)

Can I make another suggestion, try the Gadget show they are running a Broadband campain at the moment

Nice idea, but I wouldn't want to hog all the glory. Anyone fancy taking this one...?
Also, if more of us contact watchdog it will raise its profile.

Don't think its an issue for sueing, just a return of an 'unlimited' service which has decreased in performance over the last few months.
Also, I have a failed login screen too, got disconnected probably at the time you mentioned (on tiscali too). Been like this for a couple of days, although I didn't try to logon on Monday.

I don't get what the problem with them is.
Onlinegaming generates magnitudes less traffic than a horde of teens sharing ****ograpy over torrents.
And the wordfilter is set up by losers that read the bible every day.

EVE, Its called EVE for ****s sake
At least get your facts before you nerf signatures, You just removed the picture of a dead Santa, and not the text where he was told to just pay the ransom, and THEN it was eve related
