To start off I would just like to point out that this is not arse kissing nor am I a CCP fan boi, EVE has many faults and there are somethings that could be done better but I honestly believe that CCP will ultimately address those issues.
As a customer and EVE player I would like to show my appreciation for your product and thank the team for the effort behind the creation of Trinity. The large amount of man-years involved in its production shows and many games in across every genre fail to achieve what you have with Trinity. The quality of the updated graphics is groundbreaking in the MMO genre and affirm EVEs place at the cutting edge of MMORPG gaming technology.
Whats more you are not charging your customers for this update when other online games gouge their player base for cash yet provide little in their expansions.
So many thanks to CCP and I hope Trinity proves to be the success for you it deserves to be.

Dude, your sig.
WoW players tend to get the flame.
I think CCP have scored a direct hit with their graphics update though. Should get a few more players into eve, and retain a lot of players who may have been temped elsewhere with shiny gfx.   ============================================

It's a good job on the graphics but you people who say this is "free" must be playing some different game... We here at EVE pay 15$ per account and most players have two or more accounts so I wouldn't call 30$ a month "free" exactly... Of course it's nice of CCP not to charge extra for every update but those 50 man years were not payed out of some loving Devs pocket.. they were payed by us in the last 4,5 years. |

You get the new content at no 'extra' charge though. _

An excellent boost to the graphics. CCP have laid massive foundations, with remodelling, self shading and diffuse reflections. I believe we will see further graphical improvements to come in the near and mid-term, and would like to encourage CCP by saying that they will probably be a comparative walk-in-the-park in contrast to the effort made in Trinity - particularly when reworking the background of space. However I do understand that damage-effects will be very difficult, and a long-term area of work.
Also, congratulations in getting Trinity tabled for early December.

Once they fix the non-transparancy and the other graphics weirdness (like solid white framed stargates), they deserve all the credit for this one.

I can only agree. Normally, any significant content or client upgrade is sold as a separate retail package. You also never get a choice in implementing an engine upgrade. You just have to do it. Trinity is funded entirely trough the service budget our subscriptions pay for (and maybe the new subscriptions, i don't know), AND it is as far as presentation goes entirely optional. If for whatever reason you don't want or can not run the new engine, you can still use the old one. That in itself should be used as an example to the entire MMOG world, in fact any game that revolves around mandatory updates as to how technology upgrades should be handled. I do hope it will earn CCP some accolades, because while many people complain about ore depletion and Jita becoming unplayable, i feel that more players is never a bad thing and EVE sure can use any mainstream publicity it can get.
