I can't play movies because i don't have your spesh00l movie playing stuff due to reinstalling my OS.

I just using ffdshow codec pack. Works wonders.

FFDShow isn't a codec pack; it is a single codec that has loads and loads of various encoders and decoders integrated into it.
However, it is not a splitter; as a result unless you have a separate splitter it cannot play MKV/MP4/M2V/whatever isn't AVI.

So i download CCCP codec pack and in the middle of the installation i get this:
Internal error: Expression error 'Runtime Error (at 8:176):
RegSvr32 failed with exit code 0x5.'
Any ideas?

Did you uninstall all other codec packs first?
If that doesn't work, you can always get VLC or Mplayer, of course.

Codec packs (e.g. K-Lite) can be uninstalled in Add/Remove programs. If its not listed there you probably wouldn't need to uninstall it.
