Ive watched the trailers and then loaded sisi and well my heart sang of disappointment. They look nothing like the trailer, an obviously enhanced trailer.
Yeah the ships are a little prettier and look like they have been varnished, but its like those games that have a great intro and then the real game just looks bland. and this is how i feel about seeing Trinity on SiSi. Yeah i have a very good gfx card, settings to extreme, but its just doesnt have the awe of the trailers..please tell me im missing something, cos imho x3 looks far better from 3 years ago. The blandness of space in general doesnt help tho i guess. I hope the release version is better

How can you be right on a topic thats a matter of opinion?
I do agree in part, but you can't set crazy standards, this is still the best looking MMO out and when you make a Trailer you are marketing so you will try your best to get the best lighting, and looks you can. Its never the same ingame.

I've been nothing but happy with it, myself.
A tip for determining that the trailers might not have been purely in-game: look at how the rifters move. Never seen anything like that in Eve. Also, Navitii around a Nyx  .

With "full everything", at very high resolution and CTRL-F9 pressed, it DOES look like the trailer after your downsize it... or with AA enabled in spite of the HDR warning.
However, you're not getting anywhere near that framerate with any "regular" machine, you can be sure of that.
Dissapointed ? Naaah.
You can't be dissapointed when you weren't really expecting anything,
Hell, I'm one of theose people that would have been happy with a "wireframe" mode EVE.
I have no idea if I'll even bother downloading the "new art content" when it hits TQ, or even if I'll do that, most probably the settings will remain on "low graphics" most of the time.
I mean, hello... zoomed out, a handfull of non-descript pixels on the screen insider the "ship box" or "NPC cross" look mostly the same regardless of graphics settings anyway... so why bother ?

Your doing something wrong then since my images do look like in the trailer (although im not sure if i have AA on or not). Make sure you have your colour depth set right. It looks like the default is 24bit rather than 24bit and 8 bit alpha. The alpha vastly improves things in my opinion.

I think this is shaping up to be the best expansion yet, and the graphics are top-notch. And of course the trailer and screenshots would be omfg pretty, but you'd have to have a top of the line PC and perfect lighting conditions. Seriously though, It looks great.
And X3 is utter garbage, don't compare EVE to that heap of trash.

well, considering its on the TEST SERVER, and isnt finished, how can you compare the game to the trailers. the trailer is supposed to have a very poloshed look..look at WoW commercials, are you gonna flame them because there "trailer dosent look like the game" if there trailers look like there game, its simple, nobody would even think about playing it.maybe you should pull your head out of ur ass and not expect too much of a mmo.

Well I think it is a great improvement. I really would like to see the rest of eve updated. The background skies, planets and celestial objects will make a great impact on the game when they are done. The UI interface needs an improvement, as it still looks very basic. I looking forward to the music and sound effects being updated and I know that there upgrade will be rewarding.

ah you're not impressed. well I quite like the game already, and would probably keep paying for it without any upgrades in the forseeable future.
So a free graphics upgrade, which i doubt anyone can argue is anything but a nice improvement, is just a nice present, bonus, perk, gift, whatever you'd like to call it.
