Naturally occurring uranium is not all that dangerous and has been used for ages in glass and ceramics as it gives a nice yellowish color. If you see a yellow glass vase on grandmas mantle and put a geiger counter next to it don't be surprised if it starts indicating radioactivity.

Sorry but you'd need literal truck loads of the stuff. Most (over 99%) of uranium in nature is U-238. While it is possible for that to fission it is rather poor at it. Bombs use U-235 and that is what the government really does not want you to have. Fortunately separating the two is a very difficult process requiring special centrifuges (the two isotopes have a different weight so separate out) and loads of time and effort and technical knowhow. That or you can use a nuclear reactor to make Plutonium but again most people do not have access to those.
Usually it is another country ordering the stuff for such centrifuges that gets governments like the US in a tizzy.
There are loads of things at your local supermarket more dangerous than a handful of uranium.

It's funny that whenever people see the word "uranium", they immediately think "nukes!" or "glow green at night".
Actually I'm pretty certain uranium doesn't glow at all. I am a little curious as to why this is being sold in an online BOOKstore though.

Yup, in fact its half-life is so long that its radioactivity is not dangerous. Even if you ingest it, the vast amount of damage will be from its toxicity (its more toxic than lead) rather than its radioactivity.

I am extremley worried about what people have been buying to go with it especially as the majority of it is sex related.
Maybe they're hoping they can get their privates to glow or something similar.
P.S.
I just had a horrible thought of people trying to use it as an enlarger as well - sleeping with their crotch next to it at night hoping it will be like what happened in godzilla (the giantness, not the erotic sex).

Just like to point out that if you have the technology for a death ray you could probably come up with better power generation. Nuclear power is just a radioactive steam engine hooked to a generator.
But then if you have death ray tech you could probably stick the stuff you got in a homemade breeder reactor and sell off the plutonium to 3rd world countries to fund the death ray.
