Edited by: Admiral Annihilation on 01/12/2007 00:27:41 So the test server corrupted my main eve files so I ran the uninstaller and instead of just uninstalling the client files, it deleted EVERYTHING in the eve folder! What the hell is up with that? I had all my screen shots, my vent program folder, Team speak logs, movies, my spreadsheets, EVERYTHING in my eve folder! Can you please fix your uninstaller so its like 99% of all the others in the entire world that just uninstalls your game and at least have a warning before it nukes your entire folder.
ARRGGGH! *whines*
And anyone know a way to get my lost files back? -------------------------------------

Why would you put movies in your eve folder? Try a movies folder.
Eve folder should just contain eve, and the logs pertaining to it. Everything else should be in a separate folder. This has been standard practice since oh... windows 95?

Just because 99% of installers behave differently doesn't mean they are right. I despise having to clean up after uninstallers which refuse to remove program directories.
Actually, except for the whole storing-your-settings-and-cache-in-various-deeply-buried-folders nonsense, EVE is one of the best behaved apps I know of in terms of install/uninstall/copy/patch/whatever. And AFAIK that issue can be worked around anyway. -
