What exactly is it about a warp scrambler that allows it to shut down a MWD? Is it the 2 points of scrambling strength? Would two disruptors be able to shut down a MWD, or is there some kind of hidden stat that scramblers have and disruptors lack? |

They have the stat called "Its programmed to do that"...seriously it does that because CCP programmed it to. That is all. |

I think it might be the stat named "activationBlockedStrenght" (no, that isn't a typo on my part). It doesn't really matter though, the reason is because CCP says so. |

Its not the number of points it applies, if that is what you are asking. Its a feature of scrams. i.e. 2 or 50 disruptor points wont shut down a MWD. 1 scram will. |

It's not really a hidden stat. Says in the description that scrams shut down mwds |

But not in the attributes where it probably should be. |

It's a recent-ish change.
They wanted to give ABs and scrams a more clearly defined role in PVP.
Previously scrams were just shorter ranged warp disruptors.
It's not it being two points.
Two long points will not toggle off an MWD. |

Unfortunately DS AB's are often more expensive than the best T1/T2 faction hull to hit the ridiculous +1.2B for A-types 10MN AB's, witch is the double price of a simple naked carrier....seriously CCP? The only ships with AB bonus being those already faster there's no real reason to use something else than meta AB or T2 version for regular pvp uses, if you use something else then be ready to cry hard when you loose it.
lol at Tengus/lokis at 1.5B eve-kill announced when very often a single of those mods is already that price.(10MN AB's - Shield boosters/hardeners/platings) |

A disruptor disrupt's the computer systems which engage warp and a scrambler disrupts all mechanisms to engage warp is what I believed. |

What's a non-sequiter, something you don't cut the roses with? Apparently we're getting censored now. |

Will a scam still turn off the mwd of a ship that is still able to warp away due to having a warp strength of 2+? I'm thinking yes the scram will still turn off but thought I would ask.

That's caused by something called "supply and demand" and is working as intended. Keep in mind that the only source of A-Type 10MNs is from explorers running 6/10s in lowsec, there is very low supply and there are people willing to pay that much for the very best; that's why they cost that much. |

You would be correct. The scram nullifying a MWD is totally independent of warp core strength.
