Correct - stuff in the corp hangar can be scanned by NPC customs officials. Which was a fix for it being too easy to avoid customs, just by using an orca. And players can still not see with their cargo scanners what you have in the corp hangar, ship bay, or ore hold.
I'm on the fence whether CCP should ever fix that. On the downside, it means the ships and other stuff in the "special" bays never drops and can never be seen by players, which goes against the sandbox nature. OTOH, it's one of the few ways to move the really expensive stuff around in a safe fashion. Maybe if we could reconfigure our freighters to trade off capacity for EHP (just like the Orca) that would be a suitable trade for allowing the special bays to be scannable. |
