Is there any basis for choosing what NPC corp to run missions for? |

Edited by: Dirk Magnum on 01/12/2007 04:47:11 Run one low-level mission for them to get some LPs, then check their LP store. If they don't have anything you might eventually want to cash in LPs for, then don't run missions for them.
edit: the LP store defaults on "show affordable". Switch it to "show all".

You can also run missions for them to decrease their sales tax amount and their mining amount.
So while they may not have anything you want in the LP store, it may be very profitable to run missions for a popular station, or one near/at your base so you can refine your roids or loot without any loss, or to sell your stuff with less tax. And there's nothing saying you can't sell the stuff you get from the LP store for a tidy profit. Chances are someone out there wants it.

Reasons to choose an NPC corp for mission running:
1) Availability of agents. How many does it have, what corporate division do they work for, what levels do they exist at, how high quality are they, what systems do they live in.
2) Items at LP store. The implants and specialty connections skillbooks can vary quite a bit between different corporations. A more technologically oriented corporation will have <race> nexus chips, which are by a HUGE margin the most profitable thing to spend LP on.
3) Availability of medical facilities. One it lets you possibly keep your medical clone in your home station, two it means you can have access to jump clones through that corporation.
4) Availability of R & D agents. Only a small amount of corporations have this division. If you are interested in Invention, or even just harvesting datacores for profit, you need to work for an R & D corp. Faction standing doesn't work with R & D agents.
5) Size of the corporation. Smaller corporations are a lot easier to gain standing in...but have fewer agents to work for.
