I liked to run the events those guys made... now that they are gone the only "events" are the multiple Lotto's...

Or atleast come up with an alternative, the few events I did partake in were fun and well planed with some talented RP actors.
Was the event team a volunteer group or were they actualy employees of CCP?

There are a lot of player based events that are long running and successful. I agree with bringing back some more CCP support for player events.
Maybe a little help getting started for some events that have a well drawn out outline, or help player events that are successful with some more incentives?
I know I for one, would love to get a gift from CCP for my Event, EVE UFC. It's all out of pocket, and not all of us are billionaires with nothing to spend isk on.
The RP events are fun to participate in, or watch from time to time, and while player based RP is still pretty strong, it doesn't hurt to bring a little bit of official support to the table. Maybe now that Trinity is out we might get a little love? Or some cuddling at least?
Ugh new post in the UFC post coming up in a few minutes...

It would make sense to have em run official events especailly now with Trinity out where the BIG wars between empires should be revived... WE NEED EM!!
If what you need is volunteers... I BET YOU WOULD FIND A LOT!!

An Event team must be controlled 100% by ccp, without any players from the game.
The Risk with the ammounts of alts in the game , and possibile tipps to alliance members , which woud have an unfair adventage in events then, is to high.
Its a pretty difficult walk on a thin line.
+ a heavy work .

What I have in mind is by far no substitute or solution to the discontinuing of events.
What I propose is scenario driven fights between members of the same corp. The pilots will be split up into two teams using separate chat channels to communicate with only members of their team. Both teams get their current objectives and flightpath by one player who has access to both channels.
The upside:
You're independant from CCP.
You are more likely to have players show up and be fair to each other.
You can have more realistic fights, since you're not fighting NPC's.
The downside:
VERY limited playerbase.
If you want to allow outsiders to join, you have to worry about standings and Concord / 0.0 alliances.
No prizes here.

This, tbh. Stories and fiction are all nice and good... but when AURORA was around to back up those stories and fiction with things actually happening in-game, that was fantastic. For example, when there were Serpi "NPCs" running routes in Placid... it could have been fun to take a trip there to see if you could get some non-"rat" action.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, whether you RPed or not, it was special to EVE, and a good thing. Certainly it would be worth researching why it was closed and attempt to solve those problems... rather than closing it down all together.

I'm all for it, cause theres pretty much nothing now, just lotto after lotto and you can never be sure if they are scams.
There might be the occasional scavenger hunt or race...but thats it.
Aurora added something nice to the galaxy, it was always interesting.
