Dude, almost all pirates laugh and gate gank all day with each other. They share loot with each other, and don't care what other pirate corp is ganking in their system.
Why have seperate corps in the pirating industry? They should all be in the same corp. Not trying to flame, but it how it goes mostly.
The day I see a pirate corp waste another one for pirating their system I will see some "honor" / "respect" actually being played out.
Turf wars man Turf wars, I wanna see some turf wars between ya'll.

I am, sort of a pirate. Or so I try to be, its mainly for the ability to know I can take a ship down, or at least scare them and make them run. And believe me, many have run.
I did want to be a Pk'er hunter, but I never really got enough time to do it. At least this way I can fight pretty much anyone, and the so called pirates are high on my list as they are the main PvP players in EVE, what better challenge.
So if u see me, I might attack , I don't pod. But I will definitely attack any pirate out there, won't I TANK CEO .. Honour, nah, not from me, just fun.
Anyhow I am friends to u all, enjoy this game. And plz do call me a griefer if I attack, I have had to replace to many ships already cos I am too nice.
Remember, if u have to die, DIE WITH A SMILE

For me every person is a target, unless that person is a friend. Sometimes I don't attack fellow pirates, but that's because I like them and nothing else.
Same goes for "legit" people, if I run across a chap I find to be nice, they survive :)

there is no honor amongst pirates. just alliances, NAP's and understandings. and even then you have to watch your back depending on the pirate corp.

I dont shoot other pirates, as they dont shoot me. If they smacktalk to me, i wont not-shoot them anymore. There are also some non-pirates i dont shoot, usually people ive chatted with and are friendly... kinda weird for pirate ********** Everyone deserves to die. You go first.

Um, that's what pirates do, really... Anything not friendly - kill.
Are you saying you're a pirate?

As I'll surely try the pirate life one day (be it in a week or in 3 years), I'll answer this in advance.
"Would you steal off of another pirate?" "steal off" as in ask for a fee/shoot down if he declines? Hell yea. "steal off" as in corp-theft or scamming? No way.
"would you allow another pirate join you in a mission?" Sure, provided 1. it's a good player, 2. I'm confident it's someone that won't try to set me up.
"would you ever attack another pirate if you knew that they had just stole an expensive load?" You bet.
On a sidenote, IMO most "pirates" are carebears that neither are good at PvP or put any effort into really being a pirate. They just hug their little gates for some hours talking to each other while they hope that someone that they outnumber 5-1 will come by so they still can get a gank-kill instead of using skills.

It really depends, I dont shoot at any of the pirates that were in the forsaken empire with me. But I freely shoot at Jokers or any nub pirate corp that comes to my spots. Fighting with Jokers is fun, I like the guys and I suppose we get along...but!

the only reason gatecamping is done by f-e is to protect our borders from the north. we do however frequently fly out in wolfpacks to hunt our enemy

As I understand it, purely from what I've observed as an outsider, pirates have very few rivalries with each other. Basically there's the FE block, the M0o block, and a few corps which do not associate with these. However pirates tend to work together much more often than they fight each other. This is observations from forums and seeing and fighting various dissociated corps of pirates in the same systems. -------

I think it would be a nice turn of events for the real pirate corps to blast the small-time griefer corps for killing their trade routes with gate camps.
The real "pirates" seem to get along great and show significant mutual respect. The "griefer" segment seems to travel around attempting to make others feel inferior without regard for who they are, pirate or no. ------------------------------------- // The views expressed by this poster are not the views of the poster's corporation, alliance, planet or television network... but they should be. |

Psyrex, I use to be a theif in eve...I'm currently retired...atleast my main is..I have riped off STK,Carbine Indust..Jericho Fraction to name a few big corps.. Being a theif..takes skillz almost like a poker game you have to play your cards right and read your other player to make the perfect hit...and get the game in your pocket. Now I can only speak for myself here but I do have honor as a retired theif...and when I was still a theif..I have a very close circle of friends that I knew when I started out in the game ..and you have to understand that most theifs didnt just wake up in eve and wanted to be one...they normally 90% of the time..the ones that I know such as Sworn..and other..had been screwed over by other corps that they started in either being there slaves..etc...we try to or atleast I do some roleplaying my char as much as I can..But I still have honor and alot of people do respect me as I respect them... As for some of your questions here...each thief is different...in the past I have had other people help me on a few raids...and inreturn I paid them very well for there help. but most of the time theif's works solo..it works out better and less problems and we mainly use alts instead of are mains most of the time. As my past it has helped me be a better CEO and Director of corps that "swisher" has been in. Its made me find people and know what they are trying to do ..

What is Victory? Is it to defeat your enemy on the field of battle? Is it to simply repulse his armies and slay his misguided warriors? No. this is only the very biginning!
True victory is to crush your foes utterly, to shatter his armoured legions and run down his fleeing troops as they scatter. Pursue them to their lairs and burn them out. Burst into his unholy temples, smash down his icons and topple his foul idols. Burn his heretical works and leav no stone upon stone. Slaughter his followers, their families and their livestock lest any of their taint remain. And when that is done, put the ruins to the torch.
Any that have dealt with them or given them succour must be obliterated, for memory is insidious and though you have crushed their will and their bodies they may yet return. Send warrior scribes to excise the records of their name, expunge their deeds from the annals of history and remove even the memory of your foe's existence. Only then have you truly won.
This is the meaning of victory.

Being a corp thief takes NO skills. All it takes is a willingness to betray the trust of people you are supposed to be friends with. I presonally have access to items from my corp. Would I take them? Hell no, and not just because the guys I'm with are great guys. I wouldn't do it because Corp thieves are the worst kind of griefer scum. You aren't wasting one guy and ruining his day, you ruin the MONTH OR MORE of MANY people.
I guess this is where corp security comes in, but it's really sad that one person can destroy so many others gameplay.
As far as pirating goes, I haven't done any yet, and probably won't ever do it. I disagree with the philosophy behind it. After I get some skills up though I will probably do some Pirate hunting/PvP. At least a little bit because otherwise you are missing out on a lot of the fun this game is set up to provide. There is nothing more exciting than a good PvP battle. You will never encounter a better AI. I'll just have to make sure I'm prepared to lose my ship. Some of these guys are scary in PvP I hear. (which is kinda the point)

Yeap...plus some side thinking of not puting all your good stuff into your hangors.
P.s..Max time in a corp ...for a rip..7 days ..best time..(Carbine Indust) 2 hours. Your right takes no skillz. -swish |

Even for those who live outside the law, there are certain boundaries, certain lines that should not be crossed. Rules must be implied, otherwise what you have is anarchy!
honour amongst thieves? yes, that is all they have.. trust and honour..
those who understand and act on this, are the ones that become great.

OK so to those of you that say you dont attack other pirates. Just for an example...your gate camping and a ship comes in do you: A) Check to see if its a pirate come to join you by checking his/her info and sec status. or B) Do you just take a look at the name and if you don't know them you blast them? or C) Blast is and dont check at all.
