soo, what is the most anthetical thing to low sec greifing? High sec mining of course.
this observation got me thinking for a long time now pirates have been complaining about the difficulty in raising their sec status and carebears have been complaining about pirates forcing their game play style on them.
so why not kill two birds with one stone and introduce a way for people to mine their sec status up
its simple, concord starts giving out deadspace missions the deadspace gates can only be activated by mining barges, and lead to pockets containing only a special kind of asteriod, that is completely useless except for handing in for the mission
The missions give no reward other then a sec boost, and can only boost your sec status up to 0, failing the mission causes a sec hit.
this makes sense, the stereotypical image of prison is splitting rocks, and what is mining other then that?
ok that solves the sec status grinding part, but what about the carebears?
well think about it, this is their oppertunity for revenge remeber the gates can only be acessed by mining barges. so once probed down, carebears who have specialized in mining can warp in with a hulk, and greif pirates by mining their roids heck they can even ransom the pirates, "pay me 10mill and i wont hurt the roids!" hows that for justice?
so, pirates get an oppertunity to get sec status back, carebears get their revenge. its win win _____________________________________________________

Hahahahah!
This idea made me laugh - it's a great fun idea, but unfortunately CCP would never do it, and and I can see a few potential flaws - like the fact that the deadspaces for mining would have to be in low-sec, and therefore the carebears in hulks would probably be shot down while attempting to reach their place of revenge - which is such a shame, because I would simply LOVE to see a pirate being forced to mine and then being harassed by a former victim - talk about poetic justice or what!
And one thing about the miner/pirate "dilemma". For pirates who complain about their sec status being too hard to raise: If it was easy, you'd get bored and also it wouldn't be worth doing - Games that are easy just aren't fun to play. For miners who complain about forced play style: You're not trying hard enough to avoid them - your lack of commitment to a solution other than whining is rewarded by their presence in your asteroid belt, your jet can, and your lossmail. I'm a miner, instead of whining about the pirates I used my head and came up with solutions to avoid them - and I have for over a year now. ------

I'd get a gang together in PvP fit barges and camp the entrance. Screw my sec status, you just ensured me a steady stream of defenseless targets. |

Camp a gate in a bunch of mining barges and industrial ships. Somebody enters the grid and is like "lol, afk miners and haulers, easy grief" and then they engage. Suddenly, all them mining barges and industrials have 'im webbed, scrammed and ganked to structure. ---
