Ok. I'm looking at doing a little soloing in 0.0 space, is this a viable plan. I don't plan on doing much, just a few missions with agents I can't find in Empire Space to raise standing then I'm back off the Empire Space to carry on with my standard EVE job of junk hauling for a small corp.
So, what I was wondering is, can it be done honestly? Will I be left alone doing level 1 missions in a Destroyer/Cruiser or should I expect to be blown up just because I'm their.
I've done some 0.0 stuff before but only skirting the edge. I was moving transport in my industrial and it was only through 2 or 3 0.0 systems. I've got no trouble (in fact I haven't even see any other ships in 0.0 space, it's empty).
What do people think? Should I bother or should I just leave it?

You can try, but you should expect the worst. Your best bet is NPC 0.0 space. ---

Edited by: Cailais on 02/12/2007 16:58:46 Try it. 0.0 is very empty in a large number of areas, so provided you stay clear of the 'hot spots', and keep a low profile it can be done.
.0 rats are tougher to beat - so Id recommend a good T2 ship (such as a HAC), you'll really struggle in a destroyer. Ideally fit something with a cloaking device so if anyone does stumble upon you, you can warp to a SS and cloak up until theyve gone.

my advice to you would be to actually join a 0.0 corp but then solo on your own for a while to see if you enjoy it. If not you could always get together with your corpmates to do some gang/fleet stuff. Also you will have a safety net.
0.0 can be very boring. Variety is the key so keep your options open

Right so if I was to head down there in an Interceptor or Stealth Bomber for example I'd stand a chance so long as I don't step on the toes of the corps in the area.
Well I'm not planing on mining or ratting so I'll likely not be an issue for anyone in the area really. If anything all I'll be doing is occasionally selling some loot from level 1 missions in the local NPC stations.

The good news is that the reports of everyone shooting you in 0.0 are exaggerated. I found a quiet spot in 0.0 to rat for a few weeks, and when I ran into another person ratting there, I actually arranged good standings between our corps through him, and we shared the system.
The bad news is that the reports of everyone shooting you in 0.0 are only slightly exaggerated, and 99% will just kill you.
But soloing is viable because 0.0 is biiiig. But it's much more dynamic than empire, do you have to learn the lay of the land as it were, where you will get ganked, where you are relatively safe, which nearby corps/alliances will hunt you or not, etc. That's what makes it interesting. -

not possible, when you jump into 0.0 space you WILL get blobbed for sure.

Totaly doable. Just make sure that your as out of the way from things as possable. If your just looking to raise some standings it shouldn't be a problem since any agent will do, just find yourself a backwater. Remember that there will be no market so ether cart your supplies or BPO/BPC's to make what you need.
I headed out to 0.0 at 2 months and was ratting/missioning in a poorly fitted Vexor. It was tough but I had no real issues with players out there. People would attack if they saw me but never really went to the effort of seeking me out, for the most part.
