I Am On A Trial Account And Was Seriously Considering Purchasing A Subscription, However Today, Upon Logging In I Was Told I Would Have To Wait With 38 In A Queue... I Was Waiting For 30 Minutes... Why In Hell Would A Game So Diverse With Endless Players Around The World Running On One Server, Have A User Connection Limit??
40k Users And What? You Just Tell Everyone Else To Wait? News Flash, There Is A Potential Market Of Millions Of Users, What Then? I Suggest You Fix That Because It May Have Just Changed My Mind...

Edited by: Master Entreri on 02/12/2007 22:05:07 I have been playing Eve on and off for 3 years. I can count on one hand the number of times I have had to wait in line.
Now, World of Waitcraft on the other hand, it was very common for me to wait 30+ minutes to log in several days in a row.

There are only two queues in Eve: to access the login server, which is a gateway to the game server; and possibly a queue for trial accounts, as only a certain number are allowed on at once, 3000, IIRC.
For the former, simply relog and you should be fine.
Also, there are many brands of decaf that are just as good as regular.

Simmer down ... although I am sure it is annoying to know you waited for a half hour for no reason.

Yes, it's a misleading message.
The queue you are in is created by the login server, not the game server. Now and then too many people are trying to log in at once so a queue results, and we don't have quite enough players for the Law of Averages to smooth this out. Think of it like going to a football game, there can still be a queue at the gate even if there's plenty of room in the stands.
Stop, try again, and you should be OK. The game server is nowhere near capacity.

Sometimes when it puts me into a queue, i close the client and then start it up again and it lets me log in right away. No idea why this happens that 1 minute ago it put me into this queue and the next minute when i restart the client i'm allowed to log in without any wait. Even when this trick doesn't work it usually lets me log in within just 2-3 minutes waiting - i never ever had to wait 30+ minutes, it might have been a client error on your side.

When you grow up, you will learn to have some patience and that not everything will bow to your every wish. Now that you somewhat understand the real world, try and exercise some patience. Like everyone has said, the log in queue is just for the login server. The servers can usually handle well over 40k players without too much lag. So restart your client and try again, and again, and again until you get in.

This isn't a question on how to play the game that another player can answer. In fact it reeks a lot of an anger vent aimed at CCP. This is the forum to post such tripe. When you have a meaningful question us players can help with, you are welcome back here. |

Well Now That I Have Been Made Aware That It Is A "Login Queue", Not A "Server Queue", That Puts My Mind At Ease. I Was Just ****ed That I Had To Wait - I Work 10 Hours A Day And Get Maybe 2 Hours To Myself, So When I Get That Time, I Dont Like To Waste It, Its Not A Patience Issue, I Waited The 30 Mins To Logon, If I Was Impatient, I Wouldn't Have.
I Understand Limitations, But My Interpretation Was The Server Was Full, Which Baffled Me, Considering It Is A MMORPG. Sorry For Getting That Wrong
Oh And By The Way, The Reason My Typing Has Caps At Every Word Is That My Keyboard Is Busted And I Use Voice2Type.
Dont Ask How I Play Without A Keyboard. Its A Grueling Process!

And usually, the login queue will tell you only what number in the queue you get in at. Try clicking login once more a few seconds later and you'll be at 1 and be able to get through.

Aye. The client will signal you (if you have sound on!) when you are next to log on, but will not actually log you in until you press the login button again. If you don't, you'll wait a loooong time to get in.
Same with jump queues (don't want those? avoid systems which the autopilot labels as 'Traffic Advisory!'). Once you are next, you got to press jump again.

Indeed. Ofcourse it's good to use capitals, but you can go a little overboard...
