I'm going to Sydney in 2 months for 6 months, i'll be working on and off and visiting various members of my family while i am there.
Anyway i was wondering if anybody else here has done it, and what you did while you were there just to give me some ideas, although i already have loads its good to hear peoples stories n stuff.
If i get kidnapped by a kangeroo what do i do?
Also how expensive is it to get to perth from the east

Lookout for the dropbears!
A oneway plane ticket from Sydney to Perth is about $300 to $400 AUD, takes about 6 hours, or a 3 to 4 day drive if your driving, or about a week in a east to west bus. Perth is about 4500kms from Sydney btw.
If your after a good time in Sydney, head to kings cross :) _____________ Giving out free ammo, 1 missile at a time. |

Edited by: Lethy on 03/12/2007 05:01:56 I hear Redfern is a nice safe place to visit.
Edit: Now I feel guilty, I was being sarcastic with the above comment. |

I like scenic places, beaches, wildlife, i also like it in the city aswell as out. Ive already been to sydney once so ive seen all there is to see there but that was all touristy stuff, i'd rather get more involved in whats happening. I like arty stuff, or design - like sculptures etc, and music, if you know of any good festivals or anything...
How hard is it to find work? How much is that 1 week bus journey, i can drive but i dont know if i'll get a car or anything yet.

There are two easily acessable national parks, the royal and the blue mountains. you can get to both by train.
Depending when you get there the sydney summer festival should be in full swing, which has lots of varied free stuff.

If you got the time and the inclination head north to Cairns and Cape Tribulation for the beaches and rainforest. Arts and music wise your better off heading to Melbourne if you can.
