After the first few days in the game I already have hundreds of questions. Some solutions I found in databases and forums. I started a career as a miner and managed to fly some tutorial missions. Now I want to upgrade from my Impairor since the number of slots to install things is very limited. I installed better lasers, increased the capacity of my cargo hold but I think it would be better to buy a bigger ship. I had a look at the frigates in the database but I can not decide which one would be suitable for me. I also have to observe that me financial means are limited.

With some cpu upgrades in low slots, you can probably fit 3 mining lasers on it, with decent cargo space. It has great armor resistances, so if you find that you want to do some missions, just slap some dual light beams on it, and go kick ass.
Send me a evemail and ill gladly give you a punisher :) ----------------------

Once you have gotten yourself a Bestower, i'd switch to a Tormenter and adopt jetcan mining though. Much better yield than a Punisher.

If you're mining, the Tormentor is probably the best frigate to use, and it's cheap too.

In terms of Amarr Tech 1 Frigates:
Punisher is tough due to it's resistance bonus and can deal out respectable damage - best Amarr combat frigate. The "grown up" versions are the Amarr Assault Frigates.
Tormentor is the best mining ship due to bonuses for mining and cargo capacity.
Executioner is fast and also reasonable in combat - though not as good as the Punisher. It is the chassis that the Amarr interceptors are built on. I used mine for fast transport of small-volume high-value goods.
Inquisitor is a missile ship and Amarr don't have all that much use for missiles until you get into the Khanid T2 ships so the skills are of limited value short term. Not as tough as the Punisher. Nice but niche
Crucifier is little used in my experience. Hard to get it to do anything the others can't until you get to the point where your skills would let you be more effective in something else! Chassis for the Amarr T2 cov-ops frigate.
Personal opinion fwiw - Punisher for combat, Tormentor for mining and Executioner for Speed Freaks

The storyline agent in Deepari awards an executioner for a surprisingly easy mission.

Based on the information from your initial post, it looks like you are mining. If you want the best frigate for mining use a tormentor, as executioners and punishers are not the best choice for mining. If you want to go on to missions go for the punisher. -=^=-
