So I guess I always buy into the big fads, and I sunk a bunch of SP into this mini profession and game time experimenting.
I know what I'm doing when it comes to scanning, I can hack, arch, and salvage. But it seems that everyone else can as well. So when I get home after work (usually 00:00 eve time) I'd like to think that I could go out and scan a few systems and maybe get lucky and hit a radar or mag site (no Ladar here, and Gravi and unknowns are next to worthless). But as I found out over 2 weeks of scanning every day with at least 20 probes a night, it wasn't happening.
So to complete the experiment I got up bright and early saturday morning and went probing first thing. Lo and behold the second or third multi I drop is a radar. And by the time I'm done quest probing I've already had two people asking if they could probe the system.
We have a LOT of space available to me to probe, so for me to come up empty time after time, knowing what we do about the current spawning protocol of the sites, it leads me to believe it's biased towards those who can play as soon as the servers come up, and it would be excellent if we could see a fix.
Perhaps I'm in a prober/scanner heavy alliance, maybe the rest of the players aren't experiencing this, but I'd like to hear others (polite) feedback, because as it stands, this isn't a mini profession, its a Grandiose time sink!

I think their spawn times are essentially random. As far as I can gather from misc. dev posts, a new site spawns very soon after a previous site despawns, rather than waiting for downtime.
Of course, if you're hunting for sites at the same time or in the same area as a lot of other people, you're going to have problems regardless. If so, the answers are self-evident, though maybe not very satisfactory.
Good luck. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Your experience sounds like pure coincidence to me. Sites spawn in one location when they despawn somewhere else. It has nothing to do with DT and is not biased towards any particular timezone.

Yep sites spawn totally random. the only advice i can give to You is: DONT SCAN IN HIGH SEC SYSTEMS WITH 20+ PPL !!! You wont find much there. Look for some low settled high sec systems or even better look for low sec systems if you dont wanna go to 0.0. Reward will be much better there.

To further clarify, I have been scanning in 2 separate 0.0 Regions. Still coincidence?
