Hello!
I seem to be having some issues that went from being unable to log in a character from the character selection screen to now not being able to log in at all. It sits on the Authenticating screen, until it gives up with the error "Connection Timeout - The server did not respond to the client's secure-handshake request within a reasonable amount of time".
Never in the history of playing EVE have I had this problem, in-fact I was playing the game about an hour ago. Just for good measure, I tested connectivity with tracert, and everything is in good order. I also restarted my router and made sure that EVE was not being blocked by any firewall, router or on my PC.
I believe it is a possibility that it's on the ISP side, I am currently with IINET (Australia). Is anyone else having such problems with connectivity?
I tried to test connecting to Singularity as well, it got to the character selection screen, but would not show any characters, and now it's not getting past 'Authenticating' as well.
If anyone has a clue what might be wrong, please let me know!!

Im having the same problem as you, and im with iinet (melborune, australia) Tried everyone from delete cache and settings, to reinstallign eve. Achieved nothing. Think it has something to do with the isp, i suddendly got d/c from eve and have been unable to connect again since, this happend about 1h and 10m ago.
Unfortunately a skill was about to finish 6 minutes after i got d/c, and i had 5 jetcans i was about to haul. Very annoyed.

Yeah, I'm in Melbourne too, thanks for that - probably confirms that it's ISP-related :( Been having luck on-and-off getting in to space, but once I'm there, nothing works properly.
Maybe should give support a call...

Unfortunately it's not going to be something we can fix from our side, I will give them a call and ask them to check it out on their side!

Hmmm, while looking up their support number, my character logged in, and now modules are responding fine - log in and see if it works for you!

Although to me it seems more like a software issue at the ISP side (0% packet loss, the server is traceable) they still said it was an earthquake somewhere that is affecting the connection to the server overseas, so I don't know...

Also, seems like some WoW players using IINET are having problems too: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=871271

Maybe it's a different WoW server, who knows (I don't - never played WoW!)
For me, EVE seems to be working for the last 10 minutes...

Funny I just started to get this problem myself yesterday. I installed another client and patched it for the test seerver and after that the problem apeared. It just freezes and nothing happens after authenticating Sig removed. Please email us at [email protected] if you would like to know why. -Conuion Meow
May I have pink next time plz? |
