Anyone got the scoop on good ones (USA)? I've been looking around but I can't seem to find a clear winner.

Edited by: Last Wolf on 04/12/2007 05:25:38 Sager is almost identical to Alienware, for around $1000 USD cheaper on any given laptop. Also, i've heard many a bad things about Alienware customer support. Sager is ranked among the best though.
EDIT: or is it Sajer? blah, bad memory.

I've worked with Dell, and dell laptops are complete ****. They use plastic EVERYTHING, and the durability suffers because of this. If you want quality, go with Toshiba. You will pay more, but the quality is there. I remember seeing a Toshiba laptop, still in its box, where the forklift missed its slottings and lanced the unit on one of the sides, twisting up the magnesium-alloy case. The bugger still powered up and run like nothing had happened (short of the fans inside sucking air in the newly made hole, of course ).
If it had been a dell, the damn thing would have been destroyed.

Depends on how much money you are willing to spend. I have just bought a new sager np9261 the specs on the laptop are better then most i have seen as of yet. Though this is a big and heavy laptop and not one i would recommend for you if you are planning on traveling alot with it. But i bought mine from xoticpc current specs of mine are Q6700 2.66GHz Quadcore, (2) 8800m GTX, 4 GIG's 800mHz Ram, (2) 200Gig HD's. Cost a pretty penny but i tried pricing the same configuration at other sites ad retailers but they had the overall better deal.

I really like the Sager line, I think I'll end up goin' with that, looks to be a pretty damn kick ass system for only 2700 bucks.
