Hello, i have problems logging in, when i run eve it appears on my screen, after i type my user name and password, it says "connecting" and after the load is over the tab disappears and than just nothing. I have re installed the client but it still don't works :S please tell me what to do

didnt work for me either. i hit log in and it does its little thing [acquiring bulk data/authenticating/blah blah] and then it finishes and just sits there i hit the connect button and i get this error "The client's local session information is corrupt, probably as a result of failed cleanup during a disconnect. Connecting to the server in this state could lead to a rather unpleasant game experience. Please restart the client prior to logging in."

Im also getting this problem now, cleared cache, downloaded a new client and it wont work, yet i can log in my other accounts on the same client

I have the same issue, but I have found out that my character name is logged in even though I am not online with it. It seems to be stuck, anyone know how to resolve this?

Same problem. i put my name , than i put pass, i choose the char, and when i try to enter on eve, its stop on the black screen and the download stop on the end!

Same... i log in get past the char selection screen and about 90% of loading in to the station before it locks up and Task Manager reports EVE not responding. I've let it set for 10 minutes with no change. I have two accounts and both do the same thing.
I have desktop and a laptop. Both got dorked by the deleted boot.ini bug. My desktop recovered, but my laptop now also claims to be missing "hal.dll". I'm hoping I can find someone with a win xp pro recovery disk to fix that...
So two computers with now only 1 that functions and 2 accounts that I can't log in to. Nice upgrade. Has CCP issued statements about fee refunds? Ordinarily I'd say "hey bugs happen" but now I have several hours of recovery time in and I still can't play at all and I have no additional steps to try to resolve the issue. Ive got the same problem, ive downloaded the premium client on a brand new vista32 home premium machine installed it and configured my personal graphic settings on the EVE start up page exited it as it was downtime.When ive come to press my short cut on my desktop nothing happens.Ive looked on the task manager and EVE is running then just turns itself off.So ive uninstalled EVE again and now busy downloading the client again.This is my 3rd attempt at getting it to start Anyone have any ideas?? My firewall is off,nothing is running in the background,the security feature is off please help

Well... I'll wait and see what happens, maybe CCP comes up with something.
Please don't be angry with me people... but whats it with some of you... reinstalling the client the exact moment the smallest problem shows up??? :-D Somehow every loggin problem has been solved since I last installed my client (2004 because of new harddrive).

Ok I got Eve to work..once installed I went to the folder ccp in my program files and opened up EVE and went into the directory and just double clicked the EVE icon.This worked for me.My OS is vista 32 home premium .

Got somthing like this on my accs too.
Logging in, select character and then freeze: client not responding. I turned off HDR and it helped for 1 log in, but then I stucked again.
Please help... :(
P.S. Radeon 1900GT (latest drivers), WinXP SP 2

im haveing the same dealio and its driveing me nuts...the classic update is awsome but with all the problems iv experianced so far is makeing me feel a tad...uneasy about the eve update i expect to be able to play the game with np but so far its like a virus -.-...and its causeing most ppl to not be able to use their comp or play eve at all fix please!!! b4 i die from boredom!!! LIVES ARE AT STAKE!!!!

Still no change. After EVE is done with "done processing bulk data" nothing happens. But it's NO FREEZE. I still can klick settings and stuff or exit. Feels like a small problem with an even easier solution.
Are CCP folks reading this forum area, or is this a PhP (player helps Player) zone? I'm just courious. Maybe they can see somthing in their log when someone of us with this problem logs in.
Still unreinstalled client, win2k, service pack 2 and classic.

Got it running again! All it needed was to empty my user-profiles temp-directory in c:\Documents and Setting\USERNAME\Local Settings\temp

For those who get the 'client corrupt' message. Install Premium.
Then Start > Programs > Eve > Play Eve (Safe Mode)
This should boot Eve with Classic Gfx, it aint shiny, but it works.
This method has not been tested with Classic clients.
Also if you dont have a safemode option..
Make a shortcut on your desktop, then Properties and add this as the target: "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" /safemode
or similar to where your install is located.

As it seems, it wasn't really that temp folder for me too. After the next restart of my computer, eve refused to start again. I tried some stuff again and figured out that the 'DCOM-Server' Service in Windows wasn't running. After starting it, EVE worked fine again. Tryied several restarts now and it still works.

Ive installed the unistalled the game and installed from new eve clients full builds , ive installed off old builds , ive deleated the temp old cach folder , ive changed the screen revolution , ive disabled fire wall. i changed short cut with of the eve.exe with the /end and target thing you do, been on and off eve since the game started , and i spent all last night trying to fix for ploblem and failed , ive fixed other ploblems in the past but i cant fix this 1 the game is broke ill just wait till there fix it , ive even thought of reinstalling vista and win xp , ive updatet graphic driver and direct x ive tested my isp to see if there was blocking the port 25000 to eve, any way got a head ache, eve is broke atm in my eyes

I haven't had any problems playing eve since Trinity was released, until now. The client just freezes after character selection screen with the "entering station.." bar stopping at 75%. If I run in fullscreen I have to reboot the computer. Tried deleting everything in the temp folder in my documents in settings, freeing up disk space, etc. Sent a petition with logserver dump. I can't even change skill now.

Well well... reinstalled the classic client, no change, exactly the same problem as before. I knew it. But I tryed to keep an open mind, hoping for the better. But usually digital problems never fade, like analog could.
My supersystem doesn't meet the minimum req. for the premium client, so I guess I'm stuck here. Profit lost about 350mil isk atm. Skill running the next 20-24 days, but POS offline.
But I wonder that no after-patch-patch comes up for whatever problem, not just for our problem here. Usually such big changes in the game brought small patches some days after deployment.
Maybe I'll save a logserver file and petition it.

I've got same problem. I tried to launch EvE with /LUA:off . Worked one time only, maybe this can be helpful for you guys, so you could at least change your skill like me. Altho, now i can't enter the game even with this parameter. It freezes and i got to reboot comp.
Someone *looks on CCP* help us please!

The 'DCOM-Server' is one of those windows-services running in the background. I don't know it's original english name (i have a german System, and it's called 'DCOM-Server-Prozessstart' there).
To find it:
- Right click the 'My Computer' (Arbeitsplatz) icon on your Windows desktop - choose 'Manage' (Verwalten) - Open the 'Services and Applications' (Dienste und Anwendung) Tree - Click on 'Services' (Dienste) - You should see a list of stuff on the right side now - In that list, you should find that DCOM-Server Service. Check that it is running.
I hope this helps to find it. All names are roughly translated from german to english, so it could be looking a little different on your machine.

Thanks Pat! But there seems to be no DCOM-Server-Service in win2k here. I found a "dcomcnfg.exe" but no luck in there, EVE not listed. I just saved a logfile, but then I saw patch news, 18. dec. Think I'll wait and see what happens.

The DCOM-Server Service (I believe it's just called DCOMLAUNCH in english systems) was added with Windows XP Sp2. Before that, it was a part of the 'Remote Procedure Call-System-Services' (RPCSS).

Got the same problem here on a freshly installed nLited XP Pro SP2 (stripped version of original XP tweaked solely for gaming...) and get that same Client Session error. It was working fine on my Vista earlier today too... Maybe I shouldn't have gotten greedy and downgraded to a faster OS.

Happening here to. I reinstalled last night because I could access one account but not the other. It worked for the evening, but this morning I cant enter any of my characters. They all stopped loading at 75%. This is really annoying!!

No luck here after the patch, damn! A dev. wrote (in another post) it's best we send a bug report with a logfile and a lot informations, better than petition in this case. I'll try this today.
Something like 750mil less profit since 5. december! Who's gonna pay me that? :-( |

Ok theres a few threads about this. Anyway at character select... press esc...disable eve voice...close window and enter the game. Seems to have worked for me.

I gave up trying to get a fix to this problem and just cancelled my account. I had same problem, couldn't get to character select screen. I just got the loading bulk data blah blah blah and nothing else. I suggest the only thing that is going to make devs realise that this is a serious issue is when they start loosing customers. Its no wonder they are having massive retention problems when major issues like this get ignored.

There was a new online record a few days after Trinity, so it can't be a major issue, only for us. Canceling my account is not an option for me. A BugHunter (from my bugreport) strongly recommends to update my graphic drivers, after he checked my dxdiag-logfile. :D (over 4 years old)

Oh damn. Look at the list i have done so i could play. Noone of them worked. I've got still the same problem as other people. I already did :
- reinstalled my graphic drivers - reinstalled windows - reinstalled EvE - reinstalled all drivers - cleaned cache - checked if the DCOM server is running - tried playing on other accounts - reinstalled Kaspersky Internet Security - posted this problems on many other forums not only about EvE
Seriously. Can ANYONE from CCP team give us a LITTLE clue what to do with that problem? I already lost 2,5 week becuase of that i can't get trough loading screen. Damn , now i got 2 weeks of freedom, i was going to play EvE all the time. And what? I can't , i tried all ways to get EvE running and i got nothing. Im desperated. SOMEONE please help ME and other players that are having this problem. !

I'm back! Well, in the forum, not ingame. I installed the latest drivers, but no change in problem. I will not reinstall windows, hate reinstalling operating systems. Can't be a problem with windows, has to be the client! Going to update my bugreport now, with new logfile.
@Virdmon, have you tryed installing premium and switch to classic graphics? Helped some guys. I don't have the hardware to try it. Or can I set the premium to classic mode before entering?? (only 512MB RAM here, min. req. says 1024) |

A little update here. Maybe some of you has still problems. I tryed the premium client. Works without premium hardware and switches automaticly to classic mode. Takes something like 2,900 MB at HDD. So as suspected, problem seems to be within the classic client itself. Damn, someone blow or stole 7 mobile labs. o_o

K, i had this same problem, re-install didnt do it for me. I stated/enabled some services using services.msc, and it works. I dont know which specific one did it, but i turned on the following:
BITS (background intelligent transfer service) Logical Disk Manager
And it worked. Hope this helps anyone.

Iv'e come to the conclusion that this is some freekish issue not very common. Install the test patch and you can log into the test server(Singularity). So when is the next patch?

Didn't work for me, tested also those suggested at the support site...nada. same install, copyed to another location, add the test paches and I can log into serenity,(the test server) so this must be a known issue by the bug hunter team, they surely would tell us if there would be a workaround wouldn't they?... hmm..Perhaps I should create a petition now to add to the maddness?

I never saw this when these other posts were made, but I'm seeing it now. I have tried every "solution" presented here. No help. What is particularly surprising is the lack of Dev response to a 2-page thread all with the same problem!

I tried disabling HDR (because i enabled it a few days ago), but it didnt work. Hope there will be a solution available soon ...

Well this is encouraging:
Tranquility server needs to be rebooted at 17:39 GTM due to critical server hotfix. The server will be down for about 15 minutes.
We'll see.......
