Would you participate in an event that will need you to travel 200 jumps, bookmark various locations on a route that will be given to you at the official start time of the event?
The start time and kick off constellation of this planned Endurathon will be published one week in advance to ensure that you get there on time and that your safety is not threatened. A channel will be announced for you to join and the system where the Endurathon is to start will be announced 20 minutes before the launch of the event in the channel. You will trade 500,000ISK to a designated event marshall in the said station and then be re-directed to another passworded channel. You will be kicked from the passworded channel if you have not paid your fee to a marshall.
The route will be through various alliance controlled regions, you can use any ship that you desire. Currently the first prize is one of the following battleships of your choice - Apocalypse, Megathron, Raven or Tempest. The second prize is 80mil ISK, 3rd is 50mil ISK. (These sponsorships have already been secured). Depending on you participation more prizes can be awarded and should a corp wish to sponsor the 20th position they are more than welcome to contact me. Prizes for positions will obviously not be announced before the event to heighten the chance of someone winnning something. Corp X decides to sponsor an undisclosed position for a 300 rum blueprint of a miner II for instance.
We are planning to do this in the next 3-4 weeks...
Help us make this the first mega player run event in Eve! Vote that you will enter, corps post what you are willing to sponsor...

Wow, sweet, thats a great idea for an event, im definatly gona try and join this one. Hopefully i'll have my inteceptor trained by then

Since the cat is out of the bag, Carbide Industries are the initial planners of this Event and the sponsor of the Battleship prize. Eve Underground Radio (www.eve-underground.dk) has sponsored the ISK prizes.
I have spoken to the Event Organiser (Mossy) and we have thought of involving other Corporations, Entities, Fansites, Online Radio Stations, Polaris, GM's, Devs, Community Managers, Bughunters and other people I did not mention in this to run a few minnie events enroute. Something that won't take to long and something that won't distract from the main race too much but make it even more enticing.
So if you are willing to sit in System ABC, at planet Z, with a prize for the 5th person to arrive at your location, or if you want to put a secure can in a certain spot with a riddle to guess the spot and the password - make your voice heard, post what you are willing to contribute or do so that we can make this the Massive gargantuan event that everyone would be interested to partake in.

Will there be prizes for the "little guy" who doesnt have the massive amount of cash that most players have, and will probably not come in the top 20? Or 100 if there are that many...?

I'm quite interested in this- finally Minmatar frigate 5, acceleration control 5 and navigation 5 will get some real use! Heck, if it's set far enough in the future, i might even be able to hop into an interceptor for it. The 'click for more info' link came up as a 404, is there anything important there, or will all the info be mirrored here?

Sounds like a great idea guys...But and only a observation here, if you allow intercepters that can travel at 5k per sec you kind of restrict it to the more advanced players and are not giving the newish players a chance. even if they have to run a blockade with warp distrupters the intercepters would make it np.
Not ment to be a spoiler but if i did not have very good frig skills and mwd skills I would not enter it.
A suggestion I would have is restrict it to one type of ship or equivelent and same mods on the ships so pure skill would count.
Also I would like to offer my service's if you need someone to help.
My 2 cents.

It's not fair if all ships can't play, what about my ships ? They want to play too !!!
Btw four weeks are up tomorrow, where's the event ? I say, eve-i wasn't so slow back when I was an admin. >:|
