In a nutshell.
Need to manage your cap, and come trinity find the right split of scripts for your RSDs.
Also, dont try to take on anything that has a friend equipped

More DPS is good, and nos/neuts can only do so much....
Also if it's passive tanked, your prolly not going to kill it

The Curse is getting a 150m3 drone bay after the patch IIRC. So I'd probably go with 5x Kin/Thm/Exp medium drones for varying damage types, or 5x Hammerhead II, 5x Vespa II, 5x Warrior II, 5x Acolyte EC-300. The jamming drones can be particulary evil combined with scan res scripted damps , if your goal is just cap warfare of course, since without drones you have virtually no dps.

Post patch with damp spec 4, and 3 x T2 damps you'll barely be able to get an unsensor boosted Raven below 24km (T2 warp disruptor range). A sensor boosted raven you won't even be inside Nos/neut range with recon 5. The ship will still do ok, but it'll be a shadow of its former self.

yay it appears i get to play devil's advocate,
the curse ahs bonus' for ..... tracking disrupters, and nos/neut's, if the situation requires damps your in the wrong ship. Curse is simple, engage turret based ships that need cap, eat them alive and go for a beer. pick your fights with this ship, as for the solo pvp ship, no one ship should be able to handle all situations i fit my curse/pilgrim to play on its strengths and don't engage unless those strengths work for me.
The key i think is don't expect a specalist ship to be able to do everything.

Pre-patch Curse vs. any other recon depends entirely on who locks first. Whoever turns their damps on first wins, and the other guy is now completely disabled.
Post-patch Curse annihilates any other recon. With the damp nerf, Arazu/Lachesis can't damp you enough to lose lock on them, Huginn/Rapier with MWD fitted have less than 1000 total cap and will have zero capacitor the instant the Curse locks. Falcon/Rook can probably ECM and escape the Curse, but they'll never kill it. ECM doesn't stop drones. Note that Falcon/Rook also have ~1000 total cap with MWD fitted so if the Curse locks first they'll instantly be set to 0 cap and won't even be able to use their ECM.

unless it is a) fits missiles b) fits a web and shoots your drones c) has any friends
I'd be pretty surprised with the setups listed here if you can keep your transversal up long enough versus medium guns.
I also don't think you will ever kill anything.

Missile ships are a problem for the new Curse, I agree. You can speed tank most missiles for a long time except precision EM cruise, but a lot of people can't even use them and an even smaller subsection even carry these in their cargo.
Of course you can keep transversal up against medium guns. Cruisers will be out of cap in one neut cycle, IE the instant you lock them. BCs will be out in two. That means Amarr/Gallente crusiers stop shooting, and Minmatar cruisers die FAST if you take their speed away.
Curse handles "friends" better than most ships. Anything that can catch it will be instantly out of cap.
