So i land at the hed-gp gate and the rats were attacking one of the giant secure cans anchored near the gate. it was down to about 10% armour and would probably have popped has i hung around.
Is this new? or a bug?

It's a feature and intended from what I know

if they are attacking cans at gates, hopefully they will attack the belts also, because there are some belts with 1000's of sec cans

Its in the patch notes....
I bet this is CCP's method of dealing with the 100s of thousands of cans laying around. Rather than a timer or something which increases database load, any surviving rats kill the cans.

So now you just need to anchor some cans (which have insane armor amounts) and then the rats will agro those and not you while ratting?
