Just like to here some stories on people getting caught by these. Pirates stories are welcome too! Plus if anyone can shed any details on how they work and how to evade them that would be cool.

You might want to go on chaos and play with one

OK, whats it like?
It's like getting stoppped by pirates 15km from the gate, except you're 100km from the gate, so you die more.
At least, with the sentry gun changes pirates can't use them in 0.0-0.4 Empire space. Aren't we lucky. :/

Either use warp stabilizers to evade warp disruptors or if you have jamming equipment, then jam the ship that is warp scrambling. . . . . |

He's talking mobile warp disruptors.
You can't Warp Core Stabilize out of them. You can't jam them.
You can blow them up.

he meant the mobile ones. warp core stabs dont work against them.
I've seen them being used by the CA in catch, lovley graphics. Reverend Necrona |

So you're in 0.0 ... you enter through a gate to the next system ... the deployable is out and operational ... regardless of what you have fitted - you go nowhere -TT

OK. How about some stories with people getting caught by these in game (not on Chaos)? Curious to see what the players experience when they hit these things...and if anyone has gotten jammed BETWEEN warp points in the middile of nowhere (if this can even be done). If it can be done, then the sentries will not work, because they will be out of 150 km range. This will of course, lead to another empire bloodbath, I'm sure. Also, maybe some scouting reports on who is using them and where in space? Thanks for the input. And Drog, we will play with it maybe tonight ingame.

Hi
As i see it there are at least 2 tactics to be used for mobile warp disrupturs.
1. Use the large ones on a jump in gate to blockade people of entering system. The unfurtunate one will be caught in the field at jump in but is not so far from gate and cloaked. He can turn back to the gate he came from with his mwd and jump out. Effective for the people using disrupturs to guard their regions of space.
2. Use the smaller one at "jump out" from a system. People that have jump in to a system from a gate will try to jump out from another. The player uses his speed and tries to warp within 15km from gate. But the gatecampers have the flight path covered from gate to gate warp, they place a small warp disruptur in that path and when the victim ship enters the grid it will be janked out of warp at a far distance from gate. The campers have some web-frigates with them and they web the victim to far from gate making it impossible for it to reach gate in time.
Does anyone else have suggestions on tactics, my thinking is purely theoretical and let me know if it is possible to use them this way.

Geeklab has used a couple against NORAD a group of pirate supporters in the outer Ring, and let me tell you it is hysterical.... Our problem is keeping them from using the logoff exploit. The graphics are awesome and the effect is well worth it. One evening they kept coming back for more podding just to figure out what we had... By the end of the night there were quite a few travellers in local just to figure out why there were so many podkills registered.
It's nice to have an enjoyable adversary.

MY Warp Disruptor Story
Once upon a time, there was this little mobile warp disruptor. He dreamed that one day he would be big and strong like his father.
He worked hard, and became a medium slot warp disruptor. Then he found a partner named TankCEO, and together they slaughtered thousand's of carebears, and then he lived happily ever after. ---- the end
