Originally by: Ellah I wonder what all the low sec mission runners will be doing now? Most of them did them because of the high LP - isk rewards (noone bothered about looting etc,..) CCP took away that nice incentive to do missions in low sec, and consequently hitting the low sec population in general..
It won't help, but I'm not sure how much it'll matter. I think most people running missions in losec do it partly for the love, and partly for better rewards than nexus chips. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

... Quote: especially with regard to how many missions I actually think you've done, because quite frankly you're the biggest anti-mission fanboi in this thread. Every one of your posts can be summed up as, "Shut up and stop whining about not making any money. If I can't make any isk doing missions, neither should you."
I see what you did there.
As for LP no longer being worth accumulating, and missions no longer being worth doing, and casual players being driven from the game, I'll believe it when I see it.
It would be interesting to know though what percentage of mission runners were using most of their LP for chips. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Actually, you bring up a good point, but probably different than you meant to. The Nexus Chip buy orders being there for so long probably just brainwashed mission runners into thinking LP store items = 1,000 ISK/LP. This made them equate LP items with ISK and they've always bothered to sell it from there out.
The 1000 isk/lp thing goes back further than that. When I first started, it was 2000 as a sort of base minimum, and I think it was higher before that.
But I think these numbers were more formulated by the community and the market, rather than formulated by the game design.
In the long view, missions are largely easier and more lucrative, and more people are doing them than ever before (I think) and LP are easier to consolidate. Naturally LP value is decreasing. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Oh, on a slightly separate note but related none the less for me the LP store took a lot of fun out of mission running. That blinky blinky of a mail from your agent giving you an offer was like opening a present on Christmas Day. It was the unexpected surprise that added the extra bit of fun.
I sort of agree. But mainly I think I just miss the regular blinky blinky of an LP mail telling me I just got offered a hundred million isk skillbook for 15000 LP.
